The View
Me too. I've always liked Joy. That said, I'm actually looking forward to seeing Jenny McCarthy join the panel. The anti-vaccination stuff might be a bit extreme, but I understand where she's coming from as a mother concerned for her son, and I've always liked her and think she seems nice and smarter than most would give her credit for given her Playboy past (ditto Pam Anderson--except that my issue with her is her support of PETA). And I'm THRILLED that Hasselbeck will be gone soon, but that goes without saying .

The Lucille Ball (and her TV series) Thread--From I Love Lucy to Life With Lucy
I had originally thought of creating a Lucille Ball thread on its own, just one that dealt with her whole career and life, TV or otherwise. But since she is obviously most known for her work on TV, I thought it was time to start a thread dedicated to each of her TV shows, from the beginning (I Love Lucy) to the end (Life with Lucy). Of course, these shows (especially I Love Lucy) should probably have their own threads . Show openings below! I Love Lucy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juNSYH7RveY I couldn't find The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour opening on its own. The Lucy Show (two examples--there are more): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTX8HT5JPzg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z82cI4LXVgo Here's Lucy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2FHESxH6qs Life with Lucy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1berfXs2eC8

The Politics Thread
On one hand, as a Democrat (one who knew who she was WAY before she even ran for President--I would watch Hardball and see Chris Matthews talk about her, along with Keith Olbermann on Countdown--I'm THAT kind of political junkie ), I'm excited that she will finally be out of Congress, even though her seat is a suburban Republican one that could still get someone even more crazy than her in her place. OTOH, I will miss her unique brand of crazy. She never disapoints, that's for sure.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
OLTL's Facebook page just posted this picture of Kassie in her early OLTL years. I can't wait to see her and everyone else again! I just saw this for the first time! My girl Gabby, she's so fabulous . I miss her. I didn't know she and Delila were close, either. Really, besides her mother and sister, it seems like Gabrielle's only female friends were Tina and Alicia Grande.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
God, how I loved more in the summer of 2003 than I thought I did. Cris/Natalie, Troy/Lindsay, and of course, Max/Gabby (STILL bitter 10 years later over how THAT turned out--sigh. COME BACK, you two!). Seeing those women here (along with Dorian and Blair) makes me so happy. Yes, Troy kissed Gabrielle, and later when she rejected him, he locked her in the morgue when he started to REALLY lose it. I always loved her waking up in her apartment with Bo to see Max watching out for her . Oh, and Marcie when she was still adorable and cute with Al!

I tried to get to him before Kristen did. It didn't work.

They do, but it's cool to see those two together again. I haven't seen a picture of them together in long while. ETA: Chad honey, you're hot and all, but please don't go all Jack Nicholson in The Shining on my ass. It's creeping me OUT.

Same here. Jackie is actually a natural brunette, but I'd love to see her red hair again. At least it doesn't look Elvira-level black like it did sometime before, though (stole that from you, boo! ).

Hopefully I'm remembering an interview I've read about this before correctly: Luke was meant to be a short-term character--a man who would brutally rape Laura after having a fascination with her, and be killed by the mob a few weeks later. The fan response to their chemistry is what caused the change. Doug Marland actually quit because he and Gloria Monty disagreed about how to develop the story. He wanted their story to be taken slower and ultimately focus on her marriage to Scotty, which wouldn't have ended under his pen. He wouldn't have had Luke rape her, either. Pat Falken Smith wrote the rape story and the retcon. Which means that, yes, two women (She and GM) were responsible for this change.

If the network had its way, The 700 Club wouldn't be on the channel at all. Hell, "Family" wouldn't be a part of the name. But: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABC_Family Pat Robertson also basically has the channel by the neck to keep The 700 Club on the air. Clever bastard: Topic? I've got nothin'.
