  1. That is why I accepted Nov 1973, six months would mean late Sep or early Oct 1973, they taped a week ahead, but due to the 3 weeks of Watergate pre-emptions, that would place her first airdate around early November. Maybe they still were ahead production wise for the Christmas/New Year break as well? Oh well, I guess until we see the episodes or get contract or script info it will be a mystery I think Jeanne has always stated 6 1/2 months after the premiere, but I have never seen a first airdate. I guess the Jan 28 date could have just been a big coincidence or a mistake. Maybe she only appeared once in Nov 73 and not again until Jan 28 1974 and everyone in 2004 believed this was her first airdate or something. Or maybe she really was on vacation in November and the Jan 28 date was used as it was her second episode. I would think Jeanne or the papers would have mentioned this. As far as I know, Jeanne is the only one to have an anniversary celebrated without absolute confirmation of her first airdate. It is really frustrating
  2. The only reason I find this date Jan 28 odd, is because that is the alleged date of the 1974 episode we have with Kay appearing at Hazel's beauty parlour. Coincidence? I guess maybe, but it is a big one. Though where did you get the November 1973 date from? I had it too, but I have no idea where I got it from. There has never been a single legit source citing that month and year
  3. So a little confused, I found all these articles from Jan/Feb 2004 all marking Jeanne Cooper's 30th Anniversary. One of them lists it as Jan 28 and the Getty Image of Jeanne with Quinn and Joe LaDue celebrating her 30th Anniversary is dated Jan 28, 2004. Is it possible the Nov 73 date was wrong all this time. Maybe Jeanne started taping in November 1973, and the delays from the Watergate hearings and the Christmas/New Year break delayed her debut? So below is a picture form the party dated Jan 28, 2004 and an article from January 2004 which states her anniversary is Jan 28
  4. Wasn't May 1985 the Moldavian Massacre on Dynasty? Blade had no chance. Dynasty was at the height of its popularity (in fact this season finale cliffhanger was its apex) Yeah CBS was either over confident or just wanted the project to die, so there would be no talk of a series. I get the feeling it was the latter. If CBS had wanted to give the show a chance, they would have tried harder I think.
  5. For good measure here is an article about Blade in Hong Kong. The tv movie was shot in late January 1985, but Lester was apparently not absent from Y&R during this time. Also included is a couple other items of news the first article is from Dec 29, 1984 and the second from May 15, 1985 For the record Lester left Y&R around late June/early July 1985 and returned Aug 1985 (Jack was back around the first week of Sep) So he wasn't gone long. ETA: Jack takes off week of Jul 1 - 5, 1985 and returns week of Sep 9 - 13, 1985. So yeah he was gone for a much shorter time than I had thought. I was undr the impression he left for six months to do Blade in Hong Kong.
  6. This is all I could find. Terry was out during the spring of 1987 to do Hollow Point, a tv movie. Filming started in Feb 87 and most likely ended around April Terry is on Y&R all of 1986 as far as I could tell. I know he is in all the 1986 German eps and he is there for the conclusion of Who Shot Jill in Sep 86 as well. So I am pretty sure his absence was only Feb - roughly April 87 Neil died in fall 87. Never knew of the Diane Jenkins story. She returned in summer 86 and left pretty quickly once Andy made it clear his heart was with Faren. Dina just vanished around the time Jill was shot, same with Lindsey. Molly I think did have a happy ending, Nina took off and returned a few months later. Marc??? was he back in 86, I thought he returned in 87.
  7. I think it was a mix. There seems to be cast members who are still friendly or have defended Brenda and others who loathe her. Ed has always seemed a little bit dodgy to me for some reason. If you have encountered Brenda online at all, she can be really nice one minute and then turn on you out of nowhere, not mean, just suddenly unreasonable. My belief is that Brenda has always had emotional issues, but mostly kept them in check. I think Ed Scott probably very gladly and knowingly pushed her over the edge. I do feel Brenda does have mental health issues that no one around has ever taken seriously. A few cast members have been asked about her and simply won't say anything, and I wonder if that's why. As I said there is a kernal of truth to Brenda's stories. Also If you watch Sep 1986 - Jun 1987 it is a mixed bag. Some episodes it is like 1984 Brenda, a little camp but mostly subtle and present, then other episodes she is like a parody of a soap actor, literally she would be right at home in the movie Soapdish.
  8. Not sure it was cue cards, as she never looked off in the same place. Sometimes she would just look at a wall, or up and off. Not in the direction of the cue cards, and she would change where she looked based on where she was standing. I don't doubt Brenda had health issues and was possibly railroaded by producers behind the scenes - Brenda embelishes and twists things, but I notice there was always a kernal of truth there as well. I would not have put it past Ed Scott to gaslight Brenda (who knows though) ETA: I realised what it does, when Brenda uses it in the wrong moments, it sucks the energy out of the scene because it makes every other actor seem like they are talking to a wall. Also not saying she did it all the time either or that it was always the wrong choice, but when she used it incorrectly it really is frustrating and ruins things
  9. I had a feeling that was what the deal was with Eileen. I think you are right, if Brenda didn't step up, Eileen would have just ripped her apart and made her look ridiculous. Agreed again about her looking away. I remember a scene with Traci/Beth where she did it and it worked, and yes Nina too. You are right when she started doing it with almost everyone, it was just awful. It made it seem more like Brenda (not Jill) didn't want to be there and it made Jill look like she was having some sort of nuerological issue
  10. Agreed. Yeah she lost any subtlety and depth at a certain point, the more power Bill Bell gave Jill, the more absurd Brenda became BUT - It also depended which actor she is in a scene with. For some reason when she is with Eileen she is almost always good. Not sure why. I can rarely find a scene between those two that is awful. Brenda always seemed to try harder with her. With others, by 1987, she would barely make eye contact with them. I hated that thing she did near the end where she would just look off camera while her scene partner was talking
  11. 85-86 had three great major stories....... The Abbott Divorce Saga / The Newman-Abbott Affairs / Psycho Shawn Even the minor or B & C stories were good The Abbott Divorce and Psycho Shawn stories climax in March which saw Y&R go #1 briefly and then we go out with a bang, literally in the lead up to summer 86 with Who Shot Jill in May. The show then spent July and Aug in the top spot as well. Yeah Brenda is sometimes good and sometimes cringey from 1985 onwards. Her last year on the show, for me, is her worst though and apart from losing all that history of having Brenda, I am glad Jess took over. Really love her Jill up to 1995.
  12. I kind of get she needed to be away during the time Phillip was hiding out at Kay's and during the whole custody suit, but once that was done in 87, Liz should have been brought back on a recurring basis. She definitely should have been there when her grandson died. As far as I know she wasn't. I find it odd Bell just forget about her too. I am pretty sure 1993 is her last appearance during the Bell years.
  13. So can we assume Julianna's last appearance was when Kay was shot and she doesn't come back until Jill is shot? What great book ends, haha I assume the Foster house was last seen Feb/Mar 85 when Carl is questioning Jill I think after the brief return in 1986 Liz isn't seen again until 1993 after Billy was born. Unless Jill speaks to her via phone at some point before that
  14. He came on first week of Jan 1980 and left Mar 81. Then returned about six months later and stayed until early 85. He came back roughly Jun 87 and left I think in 1995???? Not sure about his very last airdate
  15. I have one listed as Jul 30, 1985 unless that is the Aug 1, 1985 ep and I had it wrong. I can uload it to the vault. Has Ashley slapping Matt when he kisses her, Traci talking to Ashley about her date with Brad and Jill whinging to Brad about her life among other things
  16. Victor is looking for Ashley and Jill is in her best eye rolling mood, haha It is 67 A @Dion
  17. Probably. Matt is brought into the quad again in the summer of 86 when Jack is convicted of Jill's shooting. Nikki and Jack were planning to shack up and then he pushes her away once he finds out he is going to jail. She moves on with Matt. Then when the Nikki is dying and Ashley is pregnant story occured, Matt is moved to Ashley (though nothing more than a friendship happens) The following year he leaves town
  18. Not sure who the other three were, but in my search to find out, I discovered that Terry Lester audition to replace Bill Espy as Snapper Foster in 1975. When he lost the role to David H, he swore off soaps, apparently John Conboy tried to get him in for other roles, until he finally said yes to Jack Abbott in 1980.
  19. Her last appearance on Y&R was May/Jun 1976. Brad goes to Chicago about his blindness and Barbara tries to convince him to tell Leslie. She was on Days within maybe a week or two of last appearing on Y&R No Deidre played the part to the end July 19, 1976
  20. I just re-checked, we see Victor tell Kevin to call Earl in Japan, but no scene of it happening, but I am pretty sure the vids miss a chunk of show after the Kevin/Victor scene
  21. Here is the synopsis as written, it is possible Kevin or whoever called him simply relayed the information. 'Earl, who's in Japan, insisted he hasn't heard from Allison' I wouldn't be surprised if he was seen briefly. Yep that was it.
  22. Week of Oct 3, 1983 synopsis has him in Japan. When Allison goes missing with Victoria, someone calls him (probably Kevin) to see if he knows where Allison is, seems to be his last appearance
  23. That's what makes her 2002 return so insulting to the character.
  24. Yes late September/Early October 1984 is the last sighting of the Foster house so far. Pretty sure Julianna's last appearance was Feb 1985 until she would return in May 1986. I think after that Liz was not seen again until 1993 after Billy was born which was also her last appearance during the Bill Bell years. ETA: Also missing is Brett Hadley as Carl Williams. I knew he had disappeared around this time. I think he rocks up again in 1985 but is missing again for most of 1986. He actually doesn't appear until May 1986 when Jill is shot.
