Amy was on contract for sure. Her name is always with the contract players from her first appearance. Lee was on contract but only for the wrap up of Who Shot Jill, so Aug - Oct 86. However IMDB has cast credits from Sep - Dec 12th and they seem pretty accurate except Doug Davidson and Kate Linder have been listed on every single episode, they are the only ones this happens to, so I couldn't do those charts without making definite errors. Yes Carolyn most likely last aired as a contract player in Jul 86 until around 98. I have been collecting all the available cast credits from 89 - 93 based on episodes we have, while I can't do cast charts, at least it gives an idea of who was on contract and who wasn't. Plus when certain changes were made (roughly) I can post those as well at some point in the future. I looked at the 89-90 period when Mary was appearing a lot due to the Cassandra Rawlins story and Carolyn was still non-contract. Her appearances only get more scant after this. So I assume 86 was her last on contract period until 98ish Nathan is a bit tricky. If you look at June you should see him twice. On contract to June 6 and off from Jun 12. The last on contract credits we have for Nathan are from Jun 3 and his next appearance was Jun 6. Then we get credits again on Jun 10 and he is non contract. His next appearance was Jun 12. I assumed he was still on contract Jun 6. Nathan disappears around the time of Danny's concert but returns once in Oct and once in Nov (possibly he appears in Dec but don't have all those episodes) He returns May 6, 1987 and is off contract at this point. Also two other bits of trivia - Esther is never referred to as Esther Valentine in the credits until April 29, 1987. Nathan is still referred to as Kong in 1986 and I am not sure why. I remember an episode where he insists on being called Nathan, so why they listed him as Kong in 1986 is a mystery to me. Maybe just error on the part of whoever did the credits I guess. ETA: I checked actually the change it from February, last Kong reference is Feb 10, 1986. Not as bad as I remember Traci Abbott is immediately changed to Traci Abbott Carlton from Jun 25 which is the next credits list we get after Brad and Traci marry, but since it was so near the end of the month I changed it for July.

No worries. As a heads up for everyone I put Gisele McKenzie in the non-contract section as that was how she was credited. So Katherine had 8 appearances but Jeanne and Gisele split those for the month. In future I will always put the subs in the non-contract section, even if they are not officially credited. I don't believe Brett Porter got a credit during his sub as Jack

Also so far the credits have been accurate, though will still keep in mind they might repeat credits sometimes. Brenda has been removed by the Jun 30 episode cast list and Jess added on contract. Beth is also gone but Scott Palmer is still there. He did air for a few episodes after Beth left and I think his last appearance was when Lauren goes to see him as he is packing to move to California, that was June 15

It feels like that is why they moved Brad to Lauren. I think they knew Beth was leaving and maybe it was to be Jill/Brad/Lauren, but Brenda's departure squashed that. You can see Jill giving Lauren the side eye at the men's line launch, haha. Yeah Jess and Don had no real romantic story as far as I remember and the chemistry wasn't quite there. I think also Jess doesn't play Jill's sexual side as much, except where needed. Brenda was always slinking around like a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Jess has a bit more of a harder energy or more masculine at times. Beth's last airdate was June 4, so she left late May and I assume she gave the show decent notice. (the show taped 2 weeks ahead when it went to an hour, except toward the end of the year when they would work an extra day each week to build up 2 extra weeks for the holidays as per Jess Walton who responded to a fan question in 1993. Though I guess with all the pre-emptions in 87 they didn't need to bother) Also Bell stated he wrote anywhere from 5 - 7 weeks ahead per an interview in 1985.

I do have an article stating his first airdate was to be July 6 and it is mentioned in Nancy Reichardt's synopsis for week of July 6. So I think July 6 was his first airdate. Wait okay I also have one stating July 2, lol so confusing Not yet, but will, I am polishing up summer 86 and currently working on April 87. William Wintersole was still in the cast credits for Mar but his last appearance was Feb 5, 1987 (on contract) I think Colby's last airdate is when he and Jill are arguing about the previous night at Gina's when Jill is hung over. That was May 5, 1987 Thankyou Bundy1965. It is so great to have these episodes. Very much appreciated. Thanks for the tip about the credits. I guess the only thing that affects is the writer/director credits as I look through the episodes to make sure for accuracy. Some non-contract players only get listed once and not always in the episode they are in, so I usually still need to go through the ep to make sure.

Lol, I especially love how Ashley tries to turn the tables on Nikki first "Jack is your biggest fan" "Why didn't he go to Rio with you?" haha. I see you Ashley. Yes Jack asking all those leading questions without wanting raise suspicion and also how Bell and Terry did not try to make it obvious as to what he was doing. You had to watch the show and know what was going on to appreciate what was happening there. Bell uses the scene between Jack and Kay to fill in anyone not familiar with the back story. I too wish Esther had been a little more of a schemer, just here and there I think the Stevens and Williams famalies were the last of the blue collar types. By 1986 Patty was gone and Carl was mostly off contract and popping in only when needed. Mary would soon be the same. So yeah 1986 was the beginning of the rich and powerful and corporate Y&R for sure and I think by 88 and 89 that was well established. Pretty sure 87-88 was when we first saw Victor at Newman Ent., or at least on a regular basis and Paul moved on up to his more plush office space as well. We also got more Lauren at Fenmore from 87 as well. Oh fantastic glad you like them. Will get the others done soon

ALL: You couldn’t imagine THEM playing THAT story
Oddly enough, as much as I say ED was stronger in the role, when it came to Victor I agree she had too much of a soft and blind spot. However in 1987 after the abortion and breakdown and marrying Steven, I felt ED's Ashley had moved on from Victor. He was still pining away for her and she was "I don't have time for this shiz, I am moving on" Bell grew her out of the fairytale phase of that love and ED did as well, which is why the Steven relationship worked for me. I felt like any end game potential Vic and Ash had was over and the marriage was simply because they were two lost souls trying to recapture something that was well and truly over, which is why it fell apart. By 1992 when the divorce happened Brenda was owning that role, even though I prefer ED overall, I love BE as Ashley as well. Though Bell wasn't writing the show then, he did like his incest stories, haha

ALL: You couldn’t imagine THEM playing THAT story
Yeah same. I think it actually would have made more sense for Terry to play out that story, with Jack being too weak to get Nikki into rehab and faltering to her whims and even being a bit of an enabler. I liked Peter, but he was too much a serious leading man and while it was great acting, it wasn't great Jack. Jack should have been out of his depth and Peter came across as too sensible. Y&R - I honestly could never see Brenda Dickson playing out Jill finding out she is Katherine's daughter. I think Brenda would have died from disgust and horror, lol. Plus when Jess' Jill was training for a marathon. Like legit that was one of Jill's stories. I also could not picture Brenda and Eric as Victor and Jill hooking up and I am almost certain it would not have happened if BD was still there. Y&R - I couldn't see ED's Ashley with Brad around 89-90 when that romance first began. Don was too boyish at the time. By the mid 90's I could totally see it and obviously by the time she returned it worked as Don had really grown out of that boyish phase.

Not sure if it was an ep or a partial ep or just a clip, I know the one you are talking about. I do have a 10min clip with Melinda Fee as Jill when she stops Jack as he is heading to Lindsey's for dinner after he talked with Diane about their relationship. I think that was from July 26 1984 so assume it was either part of that ep or the next one. I can't find it though. I will check to see if I have it. The scene might also be part of the vault clips as well. So I went back and did some changes to my Y&R cast charts for 1986. I changed it so it shows episode leaders and I also added writers and directors. Jan 86 is a bit of a mess as we don't have all the eps and there was possibly a pre-emption on Jan 31, 1986. The show was pre-empted for certain on the East Coast, but was scheduled to air in other timezones. Whether or not it was pre-empted at the last minute I have no idea, but I have decided to go with it. Plus Jon-Michael Reed repeats synopsis for what would have been the Jan 31 episode (about Casey and Matt having a date) the following week. In terms of non contract I only include those that are credited, unless they have been credited previously. If I don't have a character and actor name, I simply don't include them. All you have to do is click on the pic and a much larger and better quality image will pop up for you to save if you want. So far here are Jan - May 1986. Will continue to post as I get the others polished up ETA: Also I did not count the Fantasy sequence in Feb towards those actors tally's unless they appeared in the episode proper and did not include Eric's appearance as Victor in the FBO (Flash Back Only) Feb 1986 Mar 86 Apr 86 And last for now May 86

The ones I have for Iran/Contra for Y&R were July 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 22, 23, 24. @YRfan23 Is usually better with this stuff. ETA: A newspaper clip reported Quinn Redeker started as Rex July 6. So his first ep should be the only one for that week. Unrelated, but I remember someone saying Brett Porter filled in for Terry Lester in late 86. Though I could only find the Mar 87 sub at the time, he did in fact also sub Dec 8, 9, 10 & 12. You actually see him for a split second in the dec vault upload clips.

Thankyou so much for all the uploads Here is the french synopsis for May 17. I assume this is correct "In order to get Paul out of Prison, Cassandra agrees to pay a million dollar deposit" May 18 Jack refuses to let Jill attend the shareholders' meeting. Brad wonders if he still has hope with Traci. Leanna talks to a lawyer about Victor Newman's check Not sure if this helps
