Yeah, that is completely disgusting. Don't these people love their parents and grandparents?

It's the toxic combination of trying to posture online, believing the naivete peddled by hucksters that all you have to do is kill old people and you get what you want, and believing you have no future so lol who cares if you die or kill other people. That's why you have so many idiots out there at beaches and in clubs. And once these deaths start, or crippling lifelong injuries, no amount of reaction gifs, likes or retweets or podcasts will be any comfort to them. Maybe this will finally be the moment that kickstarts a lot of people into facing reality, but it's hard to believe at this point.

Okay, that makes two celebrities -- Betty White, and the dude who played Jordan Catalano -- we have to keep safe from this [!@#$%^&*].  Anyone else?  (C'mon, people, we've already let down Tom Hanks and everybody's baby daddy, Idris Elba!)

Nah...Jared can take care of himself.

What a stupid bitch.  She's upset because Coachella is canceled so let's be ridiculous.  Oh, and I'm high so folks will think it's funny and cute.  I can't boycott her stuff because I don't watch her in anything.  Oh well...

She was last seen begging Woody Allen for work.

I can't stand that fake baby talk voice.

There are some who think the "people will die, accept it and speed it up" process is the right approach (the Netherlands is starting this now and the UK was until backlash made them change course), but the vacuousness of her response is chilling. These child stars are scarred for life.

  4. If anyone actually wants to help regarding Trump they should take his Twitter account, as his "Chinese virus" tweet overshadowed and dominated any other news or advice from yesterday - which is exactly what he wanted.

@marceline the Ohio primary situation sounds nightmarish. I'm sorry about everything going on.

If the people won't listen, the government should enlist the Army.

If that happens in many parts of America, there are a lot of people who have their guns ready. That's why gun sales are skyrocketing yet again. The irony is that the big cities and their strict anti-gun laws are helping save Trump from this becoming even more of a catastrophe.

on SNL‘s next live show — slated for March 28 — due to the coronavirus pandemic. John Krasinski, whose film Quiet Place 2 has been delayed until later this year, was scheduled to serve as host alongside musical guest Dua Lipa.

SNL is currently 16 episodes into its 21-episode 45th season. Beyond the scrapped March 28 outing, NBC is taking a wait-and-see approach with regard to the remaining five shows.

    I think it's 15 episodes in.

I know a lot of people hate SNL these days or see it as the enemy, or at best an old dying sign of gluttony, and I get that (in some cases), but it's still one of the few things I can sort of enjoy these days. I hope they may at least be able to finish out the season. Then again if it gets as bad as we're hearing that will be the least of our worries.

I wonder if he should have gone with a black man though. It's really sad that we even have to have discussions like this. With any luck he will win and a woman will finally get into that VP spot.

I have a feeling it will be a Latina, since he said he is picking a black woman for the Supreme Court...although yes, it's gross to speculate and to divide up different groups this way. I just hope the effort isn't focused on trying to pander to groups who likely won't be voting heavily for the Democrats and neglecting those who do.

I know a lot of people want Warren to be VP. I think that would be a mistake, although I hope she does have a central role in his campaign.

  8. Sad. And they will likely be far from the last. I think many around the world are bewildered at even Trump managing to bungle testing so badly - or even worse, so clearly doing his best to avoid testing. I am and never will be a "states' rights" person, but if there were no states' rights we would be truly fucked right now, even more than we already are.

    Pathetic.

John Oliver's last episode for a long while.

Today officially starts my four weeks of being out of work since the governor issued a proclamation closing all K-12 Louisiana schools until April 13. Part of me is very silently thankful because I'd been drowning in work for over a week and saw no light at the end of the tunnel, but I'm mostly just sad and confused for our kids, especially my seniors. They're coping the best way they can (which, for them, means making memes and TikToks), but they're worried about how/if/when they will graduate, what will their senior prom look like, the essential ending of the spring sports season before it even really began, etc. I know these are trifles in the grand scheme of things, but they've worked hard for years, and now that special season of culmination that everyone gets in exchange for that hard work is not happening because they're living in what feels like a bad sci-fi movie. Please keep all of them in your thoughts.

I know how awful a time teachers have these days, so my thoughts are with you, and them of course.

  10. My mother has a heart condition and has an already scheduled appointment tomorrow. I'm nervous about her going, especially since she already has a cough due partly to the condition, but then if the appointment is changed weeks or months things may be even worse with regard to the virus by then.

  11. The cultists are already going on about how he lied and are using the debate as another excuse to switch their support to Trump, which many of them have long wanted to do anyway.

They screwed themselves over because they set a picture of Biden completely falling apart onstage. He instead had a decent night, which thanks to their expectations game, was even better for him than it would have been otherwise.

In other news, the Washington Post continues to employ a man who is dedicated to stirring up homophobic attacks against Pete Buttigieg.

Agree.  And the fact that we're on the verge of giving said conman ANOTHER four years to destroy this country even more makes me feel both very nervous and very sad.  (I'm not getting my hopes up that voters will remember this outbreak when it comes time to vote in November.  Americans never learn a damn thing.)

Did you see the poll that said 45% approve of the job he's doing on the virus? I almost want to cry, but he's not worth it.

De Blasio says NYC will attempt to re-open schools by April 20, but that they may have to suspend the remainder of the school year.

He’s also signing an executive order to compel hospitals to cancel elective surgeries.

I wish they would explain to people just what elective surgeries are. I'm still seeing people who think that just means cosmetic surgery.
