Did Viki really always have a romantic attraction for Larry?

Oh no, ANOTHER Mass Shooting in the U.S. SMH
In this case I'm relieved at the lack of faux-piousness. It inspires people to fight harder, and I do think the last few years have had more gains on the gun control front (even though I don't believe gun control will ever stop most of the worst attacks) than I thought possible in the last 20 years.

Was he their primary funder? The bits I read about the DCCC situation, like some woman crying over the phone, were a mess. Why are they always so dysfunctional?

I see that Bernie Sanders successfully baited Liz Cheney into looking like a damn fool on Twitter. No matter how much media hype she gets, she's always going to be a waste of space...not to mention a waste of nepotism.

I agree, partially, but with social media and all the bots around now it's more difficult to ignore these types of attacks.

Someone at the Washington Post is trying to get Susan Lucci a guesting gig on SNL as Marianne Williamson. https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2019/08/02/who-should-play-democratic-presidential-candidates-saturday-night-live/ I don't see that happening (although her episode of SNL is absolutely fantastic), but it's nice her name is still out there.

To me the main time Ryan worked was his early relationship with Victoria. He furthered her story. After that point, he became an oppressive character who dragged women down. The only time this was properly used in the writing was when they had him drive Tricia around the bend. I think Kay Alden tried her best to write for everyone. I will say I don't think she did Ashley any favors.

It's also a seat they were barely holding onto even with Hurd. With voter suppression and gerrymandering they can find that seat elsewhere. It's one of those things that gets chatter in the media for a day or two but long term probably helps them as it means they are more of a unified party (unified in white supremacy). These tariffs are likely going to really hurt people as they crack down hard on more everyday items, especially electronics. I notice that we still never hear anyone talk about any alternatives to buying from China. Trump never says anything, the Republicans don't - no one does. It says a lot about how far gone our own industry is that everyone, including alleged "fair trade" advocates, just want people to keep paying higher and higher prices (with some farmers getting short term cash which they've said won't even help them) and waiting out China when it's clear China is not going to cave. I read that Russia is increasing their output of the stuff we sold to China. i wonder if Trump is really just doing all of this to help Russia. Similar to him ending the weapons treaty with Russia that now gives them more of a free pass to develop deadlier and deadlier items. Between the tariffs and the latest job losses (Lowe's), the economy is clearly going to crash soon. Sadly I don't even think that will hurt Trump anymore. So many people just don't care about anything. And when they do care, they care about the wrong things and blame the wrong people. And the media is more interested in lecturing Democrats and telling viewers how out of touch Democrats are - I've lost count of how many times they've been saying Trump has "won" the debates. They are already going all out for the Republicans and the election is over a year away.

The other thing I'll say about Kamala Harris is the attacks about Willie Brown are coming, and coming soon. I hope her team has a surefire way of dealing with them. I do wonder how many Republicans are secretly relieved to have Hurd go. It's just one seat, and most of the people in big roles in the party don't care about "diversity" or "the way of the future" or other jargon. They are happy to lock down the white vote and white male voices - and they have been very successful in maintaining power that way. More successful than they were when they pretended to care about diversity.

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/455702-michael-moore-urges-michelle-obama-to-run-against-trump I've never liked or trusted Michael Moore to do anything beyond get his name in the press. I hope that nonsense like the above can help everyone finally stop seeing him as having any valid opinion. Yet we will still hear all about how diverse the GOP is and how Democrats are the ones shutting people out.- Y&R: Old Articles

I think the problem is that it has nothing to do with Tituss. Murphy made these comments 30 years ago. Tituss likely felt he was being dragged into drama. I do think he's egging it on a bit now. I'd forgotten about that. So nasty. I was thinking of when he had Tony Goldwyn on and Goldwyn talked about how he had sex with his mother's friend when he was 15. Andy did say that was illegal, but he still kept the conversation going and the whole thing was just lurid and gross. The irony of him calling her a "cokehead" is Kathy Griffin later claimed he tried to push coke on her.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Andy has no morals and increasingly, no common sense. Our society tends to lionize that in gay men (especially white gay men). It's just camp camp camp, fun fun fun. Kiki, and whatever else.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I think Andy was trying to start some drama, as he often does on his show. There would have been headlines about Tituss either dissing his co-star and bringing back old stories, or defending his co-star and being called a sellout and an enabler of homophobia. He didn't want to be a part of that. You could say he shouldn't have gone on the show. I suppose he may have been contractually obligated. Andy is just messy and sloppy. He's lost any touch with reality.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Denise Richards has been a mess for many years. I was confused when I kept seeing people say how well she came across on the show. I knew that wouldn't last long.- The Politics Thread
They're good at getting what they want - Democratic infighting, depression of Democratic voters, and sound bites the Republicans can use. CNN loves Trump and they want Republicans to win. Their on-air personnel may hate him personally, but that's not the agenda of the network. I could only watch a bit of the debates, but I found them so dispiriting. - they are so clearly pitched to very left-wing voters, without realizing that most of those voters will never support anyone in the party but Bernie (who isn't even really a Democrat). It's not "Republican talking points" to point out the danger of such a desperate tack to one side heading into fantasy land. - Kamala Harris was clearly unprepared for Tulsi Gabbard's attacks and later just tried to dismiss Gabbard rather than address the criticisms. Gabbard may be toxic and ultimately irrelevant as a candidate, but she is a canary in a coal mine - the people who are backing her are ready and waiting for Harris. She should be more on the ball than this. - Joe Biden just seems frail and disoriented to me. I'm sorry but I have to say it. - As every month passes, Democrats are slipping more and more into their old patterns of essentially saying, "Yeah, Trump sucks, but..." when beating Trump, along with coherent policy plans that go beyond "woke" commentary, are the key. - They are more focused on talking about Obama's failures than they are on a way forward. You aren't going to get any extra cookies or tummy rubs by reminding us of how bad Obama was. The people who are that ardent on this subject are, again, not voting for Democrats anyway. At present, Elizabeth Warren is who I feel most comfortable with supporting (although she also had some issues in the debate yesterday), but I just don't really think, in my heart, she can win a general election. I feel like we're just fucked.- The Politics Thread
It's been too late for several years now. Trump has just gotten lucky. Sadly I have a feeling his luck will continue and any real crisis (the one that affects people who are seen as mattering) will happen after he's reelected.- Another World Discussion Thread
Hers or NBC's, I assume. Most of the older actors were frozen out in that period. I remember some fan talk that Linda Dano stepped in to help Schnetzer as it could have been very easy to just completely write Cass out at this point, but I don't know if that's true.- The Politics Thread
I didn't bother to watch the debate tonight but from what I've heard Marianne Williamson again made a lot of valid points. I wouldn't want her to be President and I have no trust in her, but I'm glad someone is getting some of these things out there.- Another World Discussion Thread
That was the reason given, but the writer who pushed that idea didn't last long (I think it was DePriest) and for the next year and a half Cass was a lawyer and had a backburner romance with Donna. I think he was put on recurring and then eventually made contract again after Richard Culliton began using him more and his romance with Lila took off. I may be wrong about the recurring part, I don't know.- Another World Discussion Thread
I never realized that Kevin was barely seen (or completely unseen) when Sally died and vanished afterward. What awful writing.- What Are You Listening To?
