He didn't, no.- The Politics Thread
Sorry you had such an awful experience @xtr. Thank you for voting.- The Media/Journalism Thread
In a dark year, one of the few moments of consistent entertainment has been seeing the unbelievably loathsome sellout and grifter Dave Rubin not just stuck in the days of begging open homophobes like Ben Shapiro to give him a kernel of respect, but being openly belittled by those he desperately wants to be like (Joe Rogan) and blasted by those he has left behind to try to get on the Trump money train (like the ridiculous "Unity" team the Weinstein brothers). As you can see from this, and some of his videos, he is likely coping by falling inside a bottle. If you feel sorry for anything, feel for the bottle. I think this is my favorite clip, beyond the one where he had no idea what gaslighting is, where he decides to respond to the (very accurate) claims that he will turn straight for cash, decides to let us know that, yes, he WILL have sex with a woman for money, and many women on the right said they would try to turn him. You just can't make this [!@#$%^&*] up. I laughed so hard. I really did.- The Politics Thread
I agree with Aaron Rupar, but after the way the entertainment industry bent over backwards to give favor to Sean Spicer, of all people, that is not going to happen. Anyway...- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Oh that's so sad. I love him on Whose Line Is It Anyway?- The Politics Thread
He didn't just say something stupid in his home or on the street though, he said it to a huge audience and it was all over social media, while millions of people were still in line and hearing that it was hopeless. And there were close races that night which could have gone either way, up and down the ballot. It is one of many reasons I see him as selfish and a preening phony. We clearly don't agree on this so I am going to stop. If you don't agree, fine.- The Politics Thread
A world where a leading Democratic strategist goes on a hugely watched news program during voting and tells people that Democrats have already lost.- The Politics Thread
It's odd hearing James Carville say that because he went on TV in 2018, when people were still voting, and said there was no blue wave, depressing turnout. I don't trust him. If this were a fair election I would be a little more hopeful of a tight Biden win...right now I'm not sure. Ideally he will win and the Senate will flip.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Sad news...and another sign of how dangerous things are becoming. When I saw the Eddie Haskell jokes I remembered that Ken Osmond had also died this year. Eerie.- The Politics Thread
I am wary of TargetSmart because many Republicans are using it to say Trump will win big. Hijazi is very brave. I hope people are looking out for her. She's genuinely risking a lot here. Good news about Texas. Hopefully someone is making sure those ballots do not go missing.- The Politics Thread
Rallies don't mean a great deal (just ask Bernie), but the tight state polls and Trump making it clear he will use the courts to win again are another story entirely. I am expecting the worst and if we don't get it I can be glad to be wrong.- Another Life
Dorothy Stinnette and Debbie McLeod in an ad together. I wonder if the casting person was an Another Life fan. (did they interact much on the show?)- The Politics Thread
This simultaneously made me laugh and made me feel so sad.- The Politics Thread

It shouldn't be ignored (I don't mean by people here, I mean by the broader public) how insidious and high up the ties go for these sociopaths who are literally trying to kill Biden supporters.- The Politics Thread
SNL, never really the most progressive of shows, has a much more talented black cast and writers than one might argue they deserve, and that was best exemplified last night in this piece about voter suppression.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
So sad to hear about Nikki. She was treated like garbage on Idol. She never really got her chance.- The Politics Thread
Trump is more likely to win New Guinea. The next time the media tries to parade Sean Spicer around, remind them that he went running to Newsmax after all their rehab efforts.- The Politics Thread
Those people are cultists. Most of the polls in the swing states have always been close. This has never been a blowout election. What we are now seeing suggests even further tightening, along with the already strong likelihood of Republicans keeping the Senate further increasing. It's a pretty bleak scenario, but nothing polling has ever argued against. Meanwhile, voters in North Carolina were pepper-sprayed today, and arrested, along with reporters. Trump is also retweeting and bragging about his supporters in Texas trying to kill Biden supporters yesterday. If any of you here are voting in person, my thoughts are with you. This is getting uglier by the day and it has only just started.- The Politics Thread
I never really thought Biden was going to win Iowa anyway, but if that Selzer polling is accurate (and that's being questioned in spite of its sterling reputation because some of the House results are very out of whack), along with Emerson showing Trump winning NE-02 (although again the poll methodology is questionable), it may suggest some sort of comeback. I figured this was going to be close, which is extremely dangerous because the courts will likely give Trump a close election. More from Texas:- The Politics Thread
Get ready for this on Tuesday, and from now on.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread

You should start one. I'm sure people would be fine with it.- The Media/Journalism Thread
If you need a laugh, read the very, very long correction at the top of this article. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/11/squash-lacrosse-niche-sports-ivy-league-admissions/616474/ - Dark Shadows Discussion Thread
