  1. They probably thought no one would notice, or no one would be able to stop them. Even now I wonder how much of that money is just being given back to them under the table. I read that they are now also telling people to send money back that was sent to dead people, after previously saying keep the money. There's a lot of talk from some that this stimulus and small business loan plan was well run and has only looked bad because of negative media stories. I don't buy that. The whole thing has been a shambles, and even now when most people in need still haven't gotten anything, the GOP is already backing away from any attempt at help. It's just "go back to work, reopen the economy, everyone wants to go back to work." I don't buy it. Their astroturfed protests didn't get anywhere on the level of reaction they would have gotten in most years. Sadly it doesn't matter. The GOP, Trump, and quite a few in the media want the people to suffer and die, so they will.
  2. Thanks for finding that. You can see why she was so reluctant to play Phoebe as pro-Vietnam. Of course in the end Agnes was right I'd say, as characters like Phoebe were needed to further frame characters like Amy (and later Ruth).
  3. @Brolden you probably already knew this but it looks like thanks to the two April 1991 episodes that popped up, we can date one that has been on YT for a while as being from April 5th. (It's in this playlist - under Apr 1991, uploaded by Kayden)
  4. Someone else will remember more, but I think Susan had issues with Brenda over the Doug/Lee storyline...I think with Kaye, someone ended up getting punched (?).
  5. This would have been around the time there was drama involving Susan, Kaye Stevens and Brenda Benet, supposedly, wouldn't it?
  6. I didn't really take his comment in a negative manner. To me he meant it as her laying out her marks and letting him know the scenes would have a lot of back and forth and energy (which they generally did). It's nothing that other actors haven't said about her, even those who are very close to her. They just say it in a friendlier way.
  7. Disgusting, and not surprising. Yet many still insist he is going to outflank the left.
  8. Hogan Sheffer's ATWT was all about manly men and the women who were enthralled by them. The same year they had this story, they had Julia raping Jack (a character we were meant to see as weak) as Craig, a character we were meant to see as strong, mocked him for being raped. There's no real reason why Y&R told the story, other than incompetence and shock value. I think they genuinely believed they were telling a "rough sex" storyline and were bewildered by the response.
  9. This is the type of outrage-stirring that Pence specializes in. He's "owning the libs" by not wearing a mask. It gets Trump supporters going, and it also sends a clear message of support to those who think the virus is harmless or overstated. Tucker Carlson, hero to leftist grifters like Krystal Ball, has also been making these noises. They want to placate their base over being sent to illness or death. Meanwhile, Trump is sending more people to their death by forcing meat packing plants to stay open. This is another reason why McConnell is adamant about forcing legislation that would waive liability for companies. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/04/28/trump-to-order-meat-plants-to-stay-open-215555
  10. Oh that's right. I forgot the baby died.
  11. She played her for most of the character's run, aside from a year or two.
  12. A fun moment with Christopher Reeve's son Will on GMA this morning...forgetting to wear pants.
  13. In the last weeks of the show, I remember her and Matt having scenes where their kids would play together, and you could tell where the story would have gone. I always preferred John Littlefield to Tim Gibbs. I am probably the only one who did. I enjoyed his friendly chemistry with Cindy and Lila, and I thought he was very hot. Clearly Nadine Stenovitch agreed...
  14. They look like somebody got in a fight right before the camera clicked. I still don't really know how they went from ethereal, solemn Richard Hatch to dem dese dose Nick Benedict. Ray McDonnell looks very suave.
  15. Ms. Minnie died in a hit and run https://people.com/tv/little-women-atlanta-ashley-minnie-ross-dead-hit-run-car-accident/ So awful. I hope she is at peace now. I only watched here and there, but I'll never forget all the laughs and screencaps and gifs this thread gave me.
  16. That would have been a great idea.
  17. I thought I read Jerry Douglas didn't get along with someone besides Brenda but I don't know if that's true or not. Geez what a mess. I'm at the point where I end up assuming everyone at the show hated each other.
  18. Weren't there also rumors Ray didn't get on well with some cast members? (then again, what else is new with Y&R)
  19. Oh that will be good - I know they will junk things for time but I am hoping we'll get some classic material outside of Victor and Nikki. Lorie, Vanessa, maybe Paul if this is still when he was in his white trash period (or was he already a good guy by 1981...), maybe some Deborah Adair Jill...and Liz. I'd be so happy to see Liz.
  20. Bell liked to tell noir stories and Gothic mysteries when he could. From what some here have said, Nina Arvesen's performance captivated him and he wrote and wrote for her (I think he may have changed plans that would have had her as her husband's killer). Bell loved writing for complicated heroines and anti-heroines. He certainly wasn't flawless, by any means, but I'd say he and Henry Slesar are the two male writers in daytime who most knew how to write for women and knew how to make them such fascinating characters. It's never been the same after he had to retire - characters like Ashley were quickly gutted like fish. Oh I didn't know they were doing this. Which episode will it be? (something about VIctor presumably) Hopefully these will be put somewhere. I will have to remember to set it up and hope nothing is cut in.
