  7. If anyone wants to see a little of Claudette, she is the caterer at the big costume ball/birthday party for Nina. I think she's in the second episode Eric posted on Youtube.
  8. Any organization run by Tucker Carlson, who spent years and years pushing his face on everyone until Jon Stewart humiliated him off TV, is going to be uber-activist while still draping itself in journalism. Media Matters doesn't lie about what it is.
  9. Media Matters covers press, it's not really press itself. Daily Caller purports to be press - by doing things like having their reporters yell at Obama to get 15 minutes of fame.
  10. Mary Matalin, who along with her husband was last relevant in 1992 but still sucks up airtime anyway, wants us to know that 47% of America are "parasites." This type of trash is why I think that a lot of the so-called influential media will latch on to Romney's attacks and make it seem like the truth. http://livewire.talk...y-we-can-single

  12. All day every day. That's their existence. There's no real point in saying more because you'll disagree anyway.
  13. In recent years, just about anything I've seen on CNN or read in Washington Post or Politico.
  14. The Obama/Carter stuff is brought up fairly often. Here's some of the mainstream press coverage bringing up the "bitter" comment as a comparison. http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/09/17/47-percent-vs-bitter-clinger/189956 A lot of this ends up filtering in from the far right media outlets. Some spin sites are also trying to say he was only speaking of Obama supporters, which of course would make it OK. http://andrewsullivan.thedailybeast.com/2012/09/did-romney-just-lose-the-election-ctd.html
  15. Great chapter. Wasn't expecting that with Allen's computer. Great to see more Cass/Felicia and Felicia meddling. Love the Zack reference!
  16. I just wonder how many in the public will react to this. The common public view often seems to be, "Yes, there are moochers and lazy people. I'm not one of them. The other guy is." The public is comfortable with the idea of those who get assistance from the government being demonized, as long as they themselves don't lose those benefits.

  19. Just look at a lot of the media reaction to Romney's awful comments today. Oh, Obama did the same in 2008, it's a wash. The media loves "strong father" types. They love the idea of Obama as Jimmy Carter. Romney hasn't been able to seal the deal but that's in spite of the "both sides are bad but Democrats are worse" Beltway mindset.
  20. Is Gina Gallego playing the battered woman in this clip? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUS5Dn7Mhmw&feature=autoplay&list=ULyKvBYMwTDbo&playnext=5
  21. Judith Barcroft's outfit in that photo baffles me every time I see it. It's like a matronly flower child of the Highlands. Margo - never any good hair.
  22. As Romney goes through yet another revamp the media can swoon over, here's a look at the huge mess surrounding his RNC speech planning. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0912/81280.html?hp=t1
  23. I always assumed Palance was relatively popular because you saw the big reset for him in Eterna, when Viki said he saved her life (in the screaming room) and he deserves another chance. A few years after this Marlena said all Fiona did on OLTL was cry. I guess she was just not a fan of Gabrielle.
  24. Thanks. I see you also have a hard time scanning Weeklys! I enjoyed that 1983 review. A few parts were obviously lifted from the 1982 review but most of it was new and profound. Ironic that they said Rafe should go when he'd stay until 1991. I didn't know Delila was ever sterile. The writeups on the characters who lacked any story path were interesting. Not long after this was written, Pat left.
  25. That was all taken down? I never did get around to finishing.
