Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
Even if he remembered I doubt he would want to rock the boat, given his problems in the last few years and that Kevin isn't technically "needed," given that Sally and Tim are popular with fans.

Coronation Street: Discussion Thread
It's still odd sometimes to remember all the years Gail was the dour and long-suffering mother, and now they call her "Gail" and regularly take the piss out of her on a regular basis. (I don't know what Sarah calls her though) It was weird seeing "Erica" calling out questions on the mike tonight when I'd just watched an Emmerdale episode where Kim Tate was calling out bingo numbers.

That's a great story. Thanks for sharing it.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Cute photo. I'm glad his bad fake tan is still fading. It was also nice to see him pop up randomly last night. I would have rather seen Paul and Lola having fun in the salon than...90% of what was onscreen.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
I think a lot of the tension between them pre-Bianca involved her modeling career. I remember an odd sequence where Sophie Aldred (!) and some guy met her at a party and tried to get her to have a threeway with them. I do wish she could turn herself around while she has a chance.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
So, Daniella Westbrook's HO return was scrapped for "breach of contract," and then apparently she went on This Morning and gave an interview so full of claims and accusations about her ex that it could only be aired once. I think we've probably seen the last of her...it's a shame she has messed her life up so much, as I did like her as Sam Mitchell.

Recovering lost films and TV shows
Looks like the Kickstarter to help pay costs for Eyes of the Totem is a success (with about 66 hours to go). https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1465672227/the-eyes-of-the-totem-return With the article I read recently saying that the screening for the old Sherlock Holmes movie pulled because of high ticket prices, I'm glad to see this at least has some funding. I think some take it for granted that these projects will have an audience, or ready cash. That isn't always the case.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I can't have much pity for Aaron really - he was pretty angry and hostile himself, before Robert said anything.

The Politics Thread
It's fun to see the far right stew over John Roberts. He is playing a long game and he's given them so much, so many victories, but they're too dumb to see it.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Sharon Gabet has put up a clip that has some of her work from each of her three soap roles. Some Melinda stuff here I'd never seen. Some of the haircuts they gave her were not flattering - one makes her look just like Addie, ironically enough.

100000000% agree about the ATWT finale. A disgrace. Anyway, Sharon Gabet has put up a video that has clips of her three daytime roles. I don't know if all of this is available.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Robert can take a better punch than that (he did with Andy and Aaron). It was an odd scene...I guess he was taken by surprise. Aaron loves deeply, but I think he also didn't want Cain to get hurt because he knows that Robert is dangerous. No one else does.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
That was a sweet scene. I'm so glad Leyla and Alicia made up. Damn Cain looked hot as hell today. It even made up for that silly punch scene with Robert.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I know one of the articles said the door would be left open, so I hope not. But then again some of the spoilers do make me wonder.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Dean Gaffney will be returning for Carol's exit. http://www.soapsquawk.co.uk/news/eastenders-spoiler-robbie-jackson-is-back-with-a-son.php The people throwing tantrums about Robbie briefly returning make me laugh, as many of them would likely kill a kitten for flops like the Carters. Robbie's annoying but in small doses he's not bad. I'd take him over Sonia any day...

ALL: Temporary Replacements
This is one that I don't remember seeing in the magazines I've read of that time, so that makes me hopeful we may get more. It would be ironic if Liz, who wasn't on the show anywhere near as long as the longtime characters, turns out to be the only one with two temp recasts. I thought Maureen did decently enough, even if she lacked a little of Pamela's bite.

Adding to this, a tabloid from around the time Jane Eliot joined The City claims that Emma Samms had been in talks to have Holly on The City, and she might move back to GH instead (which would happen about 10 years later...).- The Doctors Discussion Thread
This is from a TV Yearbook, presumably for the cast of early 1969 (minus a few faces). It's a good example of how unflattering head shots can sometimes be. It also reflects what is written in a few TV magazines of that time - that Karen really was off and they weren't sure whether she'd be written back in.- German soaps: GZSZ, UU & AWZ
End of an era... Will you miss it?- The Doctors Discussion Thread
I think most of the older cast lost their jobs at a time when soaps had a mandate for younger and hotter, and while they were all attractive people (in many cases moreso than a lot of the young flesh on display on soaps in that era), they were still out of luck. Liz Hubbard was fortunate to be the exception to the rule (even moreso since the main guy who wrote for her in her best ATWT years helped run her off of The Doctors).- The Doctors Discussion Thread
I think if he'd had a soap role long-term it may have shown up in the '80s...as he did that AW run for several months.- The Doctors Discussion Thread
Yes, I will, although I may put them in the ATWT thread, if that's OK with you. - ALL: They Almost Became
