  1. My working theory is that it is a fake gun that shot a white flag, like a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
  2. Eva is allegedly Ted's daughter, per the conversation between Leslie and Eva. What got me was that Eva KNEW the whole time. Might have to go back to watch her express when she walked right past him on the elevator at the hospital while Leslie had her eyes trained on him. That said, I don't know if Eva knows what Leslie did to get her the job, in terms of forcing injuries on Laura.

  9. Although she’s appeared on several soap operas throughout her storied career, playing such memorable characters as Dixie Cooney on “All My Children,” Rosanna Cabot on “As The World Turns” and Jennifer Horton on “Days of our Lives,” as well as Kelly Andrews on “The Young and the Restless,” it’s her new role on “Beyond the Gates” that marks a major milestone for three-time Daytime Emmy Award winning actress Cady McClain. Beginning with the Friday, February 28 episode of the daytime drama series, McClain will formally portray her first original character on a soap opera when she debuts in the recurring role of Pamela Curtis, an old friend of Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) who makes her way back to Fairmont Crest to support Dani as her ex-husband, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett), sets out to marry his former mistress and secretary, Hayley Lawson (Marquita Goings). “I’m just so thrilled to be a part of this incredible cast and this amazing show,” said McClain during a press junket last month. “I think it is so exciting. It’s such a beautiful production and such amazing actors, and I have the great pleasure of getting to work a great deal with Karla, and we have so much fun—probably too much fun.” She added, “We play very dear old friends, and we get up to a bit of trouble, and I think that’s all I’ll say.” While she was unable to share more about her new character at the time, one thing McClain could talk about was the show’s sets, stating, “I remember walking around and just going, wow, wow, they’re so beautiful. The designer did such a good job. They’re just gorgeous.” At launch, the series crafted 27 distinctive sets for its characters to play around in. Meanwhile, in a post on Instagram yesterday, McClain shared, “Finished today’s shoot! Such lovely, lovely people. And I made a new friend, I think! Grateful for the opportunity to keep doing what I do, rain or shine.” She noted, “Keep tuning in! Things keep getting kookier and soapier! Friday’s show brings some wild surprises!” An actress and director, among other creative talents, McClain is the winner of three Daytime Emmy Awards, becoming the first woman ever to have received the prestigious award for portraying three different characters on three different daytime dramas – Dixie Cooney on “All My Children,” Rosanna Cabot on “As The World Turns” and Jennifer Horton on “Days of our Lives,” with Dixie being her most recognizable. On “All My Children,” Dixie was first played by actress Kari Gibson in 1988. That same year, the ABC soap recast the role with McClain. Similarly, Rosanna on “As The World Turns” was originated by actress Yvonne Perry, who played the character from 1992–1999, with McClain taking the character to new heights from 2002-2010. While at "The Young and the Restless," McClain played a recast Kelly from after original portrayer Cynthia Watros exited the soap in 2014 for a starring role in the MTV scripted series "Finding Carter." In 2020, McClain became the third actress to portray an adult Jennifer on “Days of our Lives,” often stepping in when Melissa Reeves was unavailable, with her most recent appearance being in 2024. McClain made her television debut in 1983, playing the role of Erin Scheinfeld over five episodes on the NBC medical drama “St. Elsewhere.” She’s also directed several independent films and has appeared in multiple theater productions. Catch McClain on “Beyond the Gates” starting Friday, February 28. 10. A recent update to the official website for “General Hospital” sees the daytime drama series formally say goodbye to its former contract cast members Tajh Bellow, Chad Duell, Evan Hofer, Charles Mesure and Kelly Monaco, whose bios have all been removed from the show’s meet the cast page on ABC.com. In recent months, two of the five cast members saw their characters killed off courtesy of Cyrus Renault (played by Jeff Kober), while another two chose to exit of their own accord, and one other was taken off contract, albeit with no formal reason given at press time. Tajh Bellow Ricky Middlesworth/ABC Tajh Bellow Three years after being placed on contract, Bellow is now off contract with the series, with his character, Dr. TJ Ashford, not being seen on screen since at least December 2024. In a message posted to Instagram last week, Bellow teased an update to his status with the show, saying, “I know a lot of my fans are wondering what’s next for TJ, but before I speak to that I wanted to celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together. I’m excited for this years EMMY AWARDS!” For more on Bellow’s message to his Instagram followers, click here. Charles Mesure As for Mesure, the actor reportedly chose to exit the series just a few months after he was upped to contract status with the soap. He last appeared in late January on the series with his character, Jack Brenann, immediately recast with soap veteran Chris L. McKenna (“One Life to Live,” “The Young and the Restless”). Mesure first joined the cast in a recurring capacity in December 2023 before being placed on contract last fall. Meanwhile, since first appearing on the Tuesday, February 4 episode, McKenna has yet to be credited on either the official website or in the show’s end credits released each Friday. Charles Mesure Christine Bartolucci/Disney Evan Hofer, Kelly Monaco & Chad Duell In the case of Hofer and Monaco, their characters, Dex Heller and Sam McCall, respectively, were murdered in their hospital rooms at General Hospital after Cyrus injected their IVs with digitalis, a drug meant to improve the strength and efficiency of the heart, or to control the rate and rhythm of the heartbeat, which in itself isn’t harmful, but with a higher dose could lead to death if not caught in time, which is something that nearly happened to Michael Corinthos (Duell) after Cyrus attempted to take his life while the Quartermaine heir was in the hospital being treated for severe burns to his body as a result of a bomb exploding at his father’s penthouse in early January. Chad Duell, Kelly Monaco Christine Bartolucci/ABC After it was finally revealed that Cyrus was behind all the chaos last week, a confrontation with Michael’s sister, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), saw the character killed off with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) pegged as his murderer. In reality, it was Josslyn who pulled the trigger with Dex’s gun, while Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) was actually with Jason at the time of the incident, but ended up lying to the police, refusing to tell the truth due to the animosity he has against Jason and Carly (Laura Wright), two people who he feels are threatening his relationship with Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), Michael’s wife who he’s been having an affair. Currently, Brennan is covering for Josslyn, with all evidence pointing at Jason. Evan Hofer Christine Bartolucci/Disney Hofer Round Two Despite his character being killed off and his bio removed from the show’s official website, Hofer has remained credited as a contract player with the series, with the actor most recently appearing in flashback scenes that saw his character in the morgue as Cyrus removed his hospital band. It’s unclear when Hofer will officially be removed from the show’s credits, thereby concluding his run on the series, which began in 2022. Missing Character Bios Bios that have yet to be included on the show’s official website include those for contract cast members Giovanni Mazza (Giovanni Palmieri), Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer), Sawandi Wilson (Dr. Isaiah Gannon), Jens Austin Astrup (Kai Taylor), Alexa Havins Bruening (Lulu Spencer) and Braedyn Bruner (Emma Drake). Actors on recurring status do not receive a bio on the show’s official website. 11. Donna, This is why I wrote the shutdown post. If you see something that requires you to respond to someone like this, don't even bother responding. I don't want to see this on the board! I'm sick of the animosity people create just because of the way they speak, whether intended or not.
  12. Today's episode marks day 2 in the show's world, but it's not the wedding day. Thus, it looks like the show's debut week will take place over three days. I'm bringing this up because it was previously stated that Y&R's first week was essentially one single day in Genoa City, among other shows that did similarly.
  13. In case you missed it, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will rebroadcast the Tamara Tunie episode tomorrow: Friday, Feb. 28 (OAD: 2/19/25) Robert De Niro Tamara Tunie – “BEYOND THE GATES” (CBS)
  14. Answer below: Not her nephew by blood, but she did help raise him a bit. I'll give you that.
  15. Glad others saw what I saw. Too bad he's credited as "hot guy" even though Vanessa came up with some stupid name for him to placate Dani. She called him "Zeke" but he's credited as "Hot Guy." He was sure hot, had great line delivery for what he got, piqued my interest and I could see why anyone would go for him. Heck, even Dani had her eye on him for just a bit. The Derek character as it stands, however, not so much.
  16. Right. The way he berates Smitty makes me feel okay with Smitty possibly cheating on him if it were to come to that at some point. Also, to be clear, my feelings on Martin are based on character not so much the actor, although it's clear he's still finding his way into the genre and the character. Smitty comes off as a male Stepford wife type and he clearly hates it. Wants to get back into the workforce, specifically being a journalist. Right now he's raising two kids and a stay-at-home spouse while his politician husband parades around with his constituents and his rich family. Not to mention his husband not letting him in on what's bothering him, and yelling at him about it as if he's the problem. His parents were killed in a plane crash. It's possible he doesn't want press attention on himself considering the life he might have come from (we don't yet know about said life while his parents were alive).
  17. Has it really been just three episodes? I just feel like we've been watching this show for years, even though we don't have all that history in our minds. The talk between Dani and Vernon alone felt so natural that I couldn't believe I was watching a scripted television show, much less a daytime soap opera.
  18. Martin is annoying. That's it. I said it.
  19. That or a business card (which would be odd).
  20. I didn't take that scene as her crying. I took it as her heartbreaking and her reaching her breaking point with all the crap she's dealing with. We've all experienced that feeling that most would consider "crying," but it never is that.
  21. I'm only speculating (no inside info), but I think this is where Jon Lindstrom comes in.
