ARTICLE: ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Fans Promised “Big Bold and Beautiful News” To Be Announced This Week
“The Bold and the Beautiful” fans should prepare for some major breaking news relating to the daytime drama series. Casey Kasprzyk Sonja Flemming/CBS According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by the show’s supervising producer, Casey Kasprzyk, some “Big Bold and Beautiful News” is set to be revealed this week, although he didn’t provide any teases or share additional information on what said news could be. While we can’t be certain, Kasprzyk could be talking about the recent scouting trip he took to Italy, particularly Naples and Capri, in preparation for the show’s next location shoot, or it could be news that the show has been renewed for one or multiple seasons at CBS. As reported last year, CBS exercised its one-year contract option that kept the soap on the air through the 2024-2025 television season. That contract is now officially up for renewal. “Well, the truth is, we are two different shows with two different contracts, two different deals,” Kasprzyk said at the time, appearing on an episode of “Bold Live” while speaking of the half-hour soap and its sibling “The Young and the Restless,” which had received a four-year contract renewal by CBS. “So it’s not my place to really comment on it other than to say that we’re on a three-year deal, and so the third year was picked up, [which is] the way it works,” Kasprzyk further commented, stating, “So next year will be when we negotiate for a brand new contract. So we are currently on a deal that gives us one more year. So we’re on through 2025.” “We love being on CBS, and we couldn’t be happier. So we’ll have more news next year, and hopefully, we’ll be here for a very, very long time,” Kasprzyk stated. Outside of an update on the location shoot, a renewal announcement, or a combination of the two, what do you think could be the big breaking news coming this week about “The Bold and the Beautiful”? Comment below. Note: The post ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Fans Promised “Big Bold and Beautiful News” To Be Announced This Week appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More

ARTICLE: Los Angeles County District Attorney Declines Charging Kim Delaney Following Felony Assault Arrest
In response to her felony assault arrest last weekend, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has decided not to file charges against actress Kim Delaney (“NYPD Blue,” “General Hospital”), citing a lack of evidence. On Saturday, March 29, Delaney was arrested alongside her partner, James Morgan, after law enforcement arrived at her home in response to a domestic disturbance call. Upon arrival at the residence around 10:00 a.m. local time, officers assessed the situation, noting that Delaney and Morgan allegedly got into a “heated argument that turned physical,” according to TMZ. At the time, Delaney was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon while Morgan was arrested for domestic violence, per a spokesperson for the Marina Del Rey Sherriff’s Station, as reported by PEOPLE. Morgan was said to have been arrested about a half an hour before Delaney by the LASD, but was later released after paying bail. TMZ said that the decision not to file charges came as a surprise to law enforcement. “Sources say the first incident between the couple popped off Friday night [March 28] when Kim filed a domestic violence report with police after Morgan left the scene.” Further, “Cops said the next morning Morgan returned and things got so heated between him and Kim that she allegedly jumped behind the wheel of a vehicle and tried to mow him down.” “Based on a review of the evidence to date, the District Attorney’s Office has not filed charges against Kim Delaney or James Morgan,” said D.A. Nathan Hochman in a statement released to TMZ. “Should additional evidence or witnesses emerge during the course of the investigation, this decision may be reconsidered.” A few days after the incident, and after the D.A. declined to file charges, Delaney took to Instagram to wish Morgan a happy birthday, captioning the post, “Birthday Boy, 55!!!!! Your wife loves you, my guy!” Photos of more than a dozen roses in all different colors accompanied the post. Last month, Delaney shared a photo of herself and Morgan on Instagram, captioning the post, saying, “Pure love.” She included the hashtags “lucky” and “grateful.” In a post from January, she said, “love always wins! Let’s keep this love and kindness with each other through these uncertain times!” Delaney is best known to soap fans for her role as Jenny Gardner Nelson on “All My Children,” which netted her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 1983 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She later became a household name in the primetime series “NYPD Blue,” playing Diane Russell from 1995-2003. She was honored with a Primetime Emmy Award for her role in 1997, also for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She received additional nominations in 1998 and 1999 in the same category. Among other awards recognition, Delaney was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards for the role, in 1998 and 1999, both of which were in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama. B&B: April 2025 Discussion Thread
My expectation is that it's either an update on his recent scouting trip to Italy for an upcoming remote, or, more likely, news of the show getting picked up for another season or multiple seasons by CBS, or a combination of both.

ARTICLE: Nathan Owens Upped To Contract Status At ‘The Young and the Restless’ Where He Appears As Holden Novak
She's one of the three I mentioned in the other post that the show has kept listed as being on contract even though they aren't, unless, of course, that changed in her case based on her recent return. Of course, they never removed her, as you noted, so who knows?

ARTICLE: Nathan Owens Upped To Contract Status At ‘The Young and the Restless’ Where He Appears As Holden Novak

Y&R: Actor status upped
Here's the thing: There are at least three people listed as being on contract that aren't in the traditional sense. I know that for a fact. While I won't name their names, the show lists them under the contract cast section as a courtesy due to their longevity with the show. Take what you will from that.

ARTICLE: Displaying Year-Over-Year Growth, ‘General Hospital’ Tops ‘Beyond the Gates’ Among Women 18-49
Although its network counterparts saw significant drops week-to-week among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, “Beyond the Gates” (1.555 million) for the most part maintained its numbers in the key sales demographics used to sell ads for daytime programming, despite a noticeable drop among Total Viewers (-130,000). During the week of March 24-28, 2025, the newest CBS soap was topped by “General Hospital” (1.865 million) for the first time among Women 18-49 (excluding ties), with the ABC series averaging a 0.22 rating to the 0.21 rating for the folks in Fairmont Crest. That said, the Dupree family-led show held its week ago 0.36 rating among Women 25-54, easily beating out the 0.33 rating for the folks in Port Charles, which managed to see an uptick, up +0.02 compared to one week earlier (0.33 rating vs. 0.31 rating). “Beyond the Gates” CBS “Beyond the Gates” continues to outdo the year ago performance of “The Talk” (1.187 million) among Total Viewers, Households (1.1 rating vs. 0. 8 rating), Women 18-49 (0.21 rating vs. 0.16 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.25 rating). Meanwhile, “General Hospital” saw a year-over-year increase among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating vs. 0.21) but fell slightly among Women 25-54 (0.33 rating vs. 0.35 rating). At “The Young and the Restless” (3.044 million), the soap was down the most week-to-week and year-over-year among Women 18-49 and down week-to-week among Women 25-54 (0.46 rating vs. 0.52 rating). That said, the soap did manage to maintain its numbers compared to the same week last year among Women 25-54 (0.46 rating). The soap was also up year-over-year among Total Viewers, adding +26,000 over the comparable week last year (3.044 million vs. 3.018 million). Although down week-to-week among both demographics, “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.585 million) was one of the few daytime broadcast shows to see year-over-year increases, up +0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.23 rating) and up +0.04 among Women 25-54 (0.42 rating vs. 0.38 rating). Similarly, the soap also saw an uptick among Total Viewers compared to the same week last year, up +67,000 (2.585 million vs. 2.518 million). The second half hours of game shows “The Price is Right” (4.205 million) and “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.297 million), along with “NBC News Daily” (1.098 million) were the only daytime broadcast shows to see week-to-week growth among Total Viewers, albeit the increases were very minimal. “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.337 million) continued to rank last in the key demos, a trend that reportedly could lead to anchors DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim being replaced by the end of the summer. Wrap-Up What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of March 24-28, 2025 among Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a week-to-week and year-over-year performance comparison. Note*: The year ago performance for “Beyond the Gates” is compared to “The Talk.” Ditto for “Today with Jenna & Friends,” which is compared to “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.” A closer look at how the daytime soaps performed, specifically their daily performance breakdown in the demos, will be posted shortly. ARTICLE: ‘Live with Kelly and Mark’ Bids Farewell To Studio Home Of Nearly 40 Years, Goes On Location To Greater Palm Springs
I'm not the producer of the show, but I know in some cases they air episodes as "new" that were previously recorded, either featuring old clips (i.e. repeats) or they pre-taped an episode and are clarifying that Kelly and Mark are not currently LIVE in studio considering the show's title. Either way, they should be in their new digs at 7 Hudson Square starting next week.

ARTICLE: ‘GMA3: What You Need to Know’ Anchors DeMarco Morgan & Eva Pilgrim Could Soon Be Replaced – REPORT
“GMA3: What You Need to Know” might soon have a new set of anchors, weeks after the show’s behind the scenes production staff were let go following layoffs at ABC News, reports Page Six, the gossip column that is an extension of the New York Post. “GMA3: What You Need to Know ABC News According to the outlet, sources indicate that current hosts DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim are likely to be replaced by the end of the summer as the news division looks to turn things around at the ratings-challenged third hour of “Good Morning America.” Reportedly, ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic is currently mulling a change in front of the camera. At the same time, the outlet’s sources are also hinting that “‘GMA3’ won’t be there at the end of the summer,” news of which conflicts with recent reports that the network would be sticking with the program despite staff cuts, unimpressive ratings and industry turmoil in the second age of President Donald J. Trump. Morgan and Pilgrim were named hosts of “GMA3” in 2023, following the ouster of former hosts T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach, both of whom were fired after their romantic relationship became tabloid fodder and took focus off the news they were hired to report. T.J. Holmes, Amy Robach Heidi Gutman/ABC ABC News is said to be considering either installing an entirely new set of hosts for the show or even expanding the face time of the morning edition’s core anchors like Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan. While declining to officially comment on the futures of Morgan and Pilgrim to Page Six, a spokesperson told the outlet, “What we have said from the beginning is that we are unifying all day parts under the ‘GMA’ umbrella and team and that includes seeing all members of the extended ‘GMA’ family in the third hour.” Michael Strahan, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos ABC News “The third hour is a valued part of the GMA franchise,” the spokesperson continued. “Robin, George and Michael have been on before and they will continue to be featured.” As noted by the spokesperson, with ABC News unifying the “GMA” brand, “Good Morning America” executive producer Simone Swink will now oversee things at “GMA3,” while Catherine McKenzie, who had been executive producer of the third hour since the current iteration’s debut in 2020, was among those laid off. Timeline of “GMA3” Speaking of Strahan, he co-hosted the third hour of “GMA” way back in 2018 when it was originally launched as “GMA Day,” and included “The View” co-host Sara Haines as his co-host, before the show was later retooled and rebranded as “GMA3: Strahan & Sara,” marking the first time it formally referenced itself as a third-hour of “Good Morning America” while at the same time putting more emphasis on its co-hosts. By August 2019, actress and singer Keke Palmer had quickly become a fan favorite following her brief time filling in for Haines who had been on maternity leave. As such, Palmer was made a full-time co-host of the program to reward her contribution, with the show again rebranded to “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke.” Sadly, with the emergence of Covid, production on the show was “temporarily” suspended in the spring of 2020, replaced by “Pandemic: What You Need to Know,” anchored by Amy Robach. With the success of the straight news format, “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke” was quietly canceled, with Haines returning full-time to “The View” and Strahan returning full-time to “Good Morning America,” as the show was permanently replaced by the rebranded “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” debuting in June 2020. By September 2020, T.J. Holmes was named co-anchor of the program, working alongside Robach and then medical contributor Dr. Jennifer Ashton. “GMA3” Ratings Performance vs. Competition According to figures released by Nielsen, during the week of March 24-28, 2025, the most recent week in which ratings data is available, “GMA3: What You Need to Know” continued to rank last among Women 18-49 (0.15 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.21 rating), the two key demographics used to sell ads for daytime television programming. Kate Snow, Zinhle Essamuah, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen NBC News While the ABC News show averaged 1.337 million viewers, well ahead of the competing “NBC News Daily” (1.098 million), the latter series had a much healthier performance among Women 18-49 (0.18 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.26 rating). For the first quarter of 2025, “GMA3” is averaging 1.449 million viewers compared with 1.249 million for “NBC News Daily.” The two are tied among Women 18-49 Viewers, each averaging just 104,000 in the demo, while “NBC News Daily” is ahead by +2,000 viewers among Women 25-54 Viewers (148,000 vs. 146,000). ARTICLE: ‘General Hospital’ Celebrates 62nd Year On Television
“General Hospital,” the longest-running scripted television drama and the longest-running American soap opera still in production, is celebrating its 62nd anniversary today, April 1, and no, it’s not an April Fool’s Day joke. Created by Frank and Doris Hursley, the series depicts passion, intrigue and adventure as it follows the ongoing lives of the diverse and evolving citizens of the fictional town of Port Charles, set in upstate New York. The glamour and excitement of those who have come to find their destinies in the familiar seaport town intertwine with the lives, loves and fortunes of beloved, well-known faces. Since its debut in 1963, the soap opera has been the recipient of a record 17 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series, having won for the fourth consecutive year in 2024. The show aired its 15,000th episode on June 22, 2022. Led by executive producer Frank Valentini since early 2012 and head writers Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten since August 2024, “General Hospital” continues the tradition of telling contemporary, issue-based storylines while returning its roots with a focus on the fictional General Hospital location, including the recent dedication of the Dr. Monica Quartermaine Cardiac Care Center, which also honors the late actress Leslie Charleson who had played the character since 1977. Charleson made her final appearance on the soap in December 2023. The beloved Charleson died in January following a long illness. She was 79 years old. A snippet posted by the X (formerly Twitter) channel RetroNewsNow from an issue of TV Guide ahead of the show’s premiere highlighted as follows: Check out a clip from the show’s debut season below. “General Hospital” is recorded at the Prospect Studios in Hollywood, CA. The show is a production of American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. Note: The post ‘General Hospital’ Celebrates 62nd Year On Television appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More

LATEST RATINGS: March 17-21, 2025
I believe Sheila Ducksworth said in a conversation at the Paley Center event that there is something big happening at the end of April, which would align with "May Sweeps," even though that doesn't really exist anymore except maybe for local stations. I expect Michele Val Jean, with the support of Guza, will deliver their first big sweeps event since the few days they had in February were primarily used to establish the show and its characters.

ARTICLE: Tamara Braun Announces Exit From ‘Days of our Lives,’ Reveals Final Airdate As Ava Vitali
On Instagram, “Days of our Lives” star Tamara Braun announced that she has exited the role of Ava Vitali, with her last airdate set for Thursday, April 3. The news surprised fans, particularly as she posted the update on April 1, better known as April Fool’s Day, a tradition in which untrue information is spread among individuals. Despite the unusual timing, Braun noted she wasn’t joking in revealing her departure from the daytime drama series. “I wish this was an April Fool’s Joke but it’s not. This is Ava’s last week on ‘DAYS,’” wrote Braun in the caption of her post, which included a compilation video of her and her co-stars over the years. “Last couple of days really. Sad but true. I’ve been gone since late July of last year but you can still catch Ava on your screens until April 3rd!” As noted by Braun, she taped her final episodes in July of 2024, which aligns with the soap’s nine month tape-to-air schedule. “I miss being with my ‘DAYS’ pals. They are a really good group of caring individuals and being with them was a joy,” Braun continued. “Thanks for all the #love #kindness and #support during Ava’s latest Salem stint.” While storyline details surrounding Braun’s exit were unavailable at press time, it’s noteworthy that the actress revealed her final airdate as April 3, considering the episode airing that day will see EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) shot by a mystery shooter. While EJ is expected to survive, a story arc will kick off with Salem questioning who had done the deed and why. Could Ava be the one who shoots EJ and later skips town? You’ll just have to tune in to find out! In response to Braun’s Instagram post, several of her now former castmates wished her the best, including Stacy Haiduk (Kristen), Emily O’Brien (Theresa/Gwen), Paul Telfer (Xander), Tina Huang (Melinda), Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), Eric Martsolf (Brady), Dan Feuerriegel, Galen Gering (Rafe), Kennedy Garcia (Felicity), Lucas Adams (ex-Tripp), Kate Mansi (ex-Abby; now Kristina Davis on “General Hospital”), Mike Manning (ex-Charlie; now Smitty on “Beyond the Gates”) and Robert Scott Wilson (Alex), among others. “You were and are a beautiful light on and off the show. That wont change,” said Manning. “I adore you in every way possible. I’m so grateful to have you in my life. Let’s have another 3hr coffee soon!” commented Godfrey. “You truly are such a wonderful human being. Im deeply appreciative to have gotten to know you and your creative spirit and kind heart,” shared Huang. “We love you and need Tam & Ava back!” responded O’Brien. “Love you my partner in crime! Love working with you! Simply the Best!!!!” noted Haiduk. Braun made her daytime debut in 2001, taking over the role of Carly Corinthos on “General Hospital” following the exit of Sarah Joy Brown, who originated the role. She later returned to daytime in 2007, playing Ava Vitali on “Days of our Lives” before moving on to take on the role of Reese Williams on “All My Children” that same year. She returned to “Days of our Lives” in 2011, this time playing a recast Taylor Walker, Nicole’s younger sister. After a brief run as Taylor, Braun exited the soap only to return for another stint as Ava from 2015-2016. By 2017, she returned to “General Hospital” to take on the newly created role of Kim Nero. After departing Port Charles in 2019, Braun won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal in 2020. She previously won in the same category for her portrayal of Ava on “Days of our Lives” in 2009. Check out Braun’s Instagram post below.
