Here is a little more about Jeannie Ortega's upcoming 'One Life to Live' appearance, along with a few spoilers (which are in bold):

ONE LIFE TO LIVE Features

My Trip to Llanview

By Gabrielle Winkel

Every so often I hop into a cab and go to the ONE LIFE TO LIVE studio. On June 5, I did so to cover the musical appearance of Jeannie Ortega, the 18-year-old pop singer who was going to perform in Angel Square to commemorate a special day in Puerto Rican history. (Editor's Note: They were celebrating the birthday of a fictional president. Hey, daytime is fiction, right?)

Of course, the last time I listened to pop radio was way before this particular singer was born, so I had never heard of her. Life remains such a learning experience....

Usually, we (myself and a few other reporters) wait downstairs, where the dressing rooms are located. This time, there was a crowd. At least 20 extras — ranging in age from 6 to 30 — were running around, so I couldn't sit, nor could I discreetly grab a bagel. (These are big things for me.)

Oh, well.

The actors pretty much stay in their dressing rooms, but every so often one will rush by, headed to hair or makeup. One thing is certain: It's not very glamorous down there.

One of my personal favorites, John-Paul Lavoisier (Rex), came by to pick up his script. I cornered him for some quotes on two recent fund-raising events he'd participated in. (Check the June 27 issue of Soap Opera Weekly for the photos.) One thing about daytime actors is, they are really good about giving back. "I only live seven blocks away," Lavoisier said, insinuating that his appearance wasn't a big deal. Wrong. It was a big deal. Giving up your free time or schlepping out to Brooklyn to play softball for charity is a big deal. And Lavoisier attends so often and is so charming and so much fun that fans are always thrilled to meet him.

Then we got to meet Jeannie herself. She was very excited to be on OLTL, which was her first "acting" gig — even if she did just sing. She was quite adorable and could easily pass for Jennifer Lopez's kid sister (for all you casting directors reading this).

Next, we headed up to the set to watch Jeannie perform her hit single, "Crowded." "I was so happy, because I'm Puerto Rican, and it was Puerto Rican Pride Day, so I walked in there like, 'Oh, yeah!' It's beautiful, they really hooked it up," she beamed. "There are nice flowers everywhere. The park looks beautiful."

The episode airs July 27, but before Jeannie sings, viewers will see Cristian and Evangeline walking to the square. During one of the breaks, I sat with Renee Elise Goldsberry (Evangeline) to do a Copy This Look feature (also in that June 27 issue). I have talked with her before (she's lovely, inside and out), but never in person. It was quite amusing in a self-deprecating, charming sort of way to watch her looking at photos of herself all dressed up.

Here’s a sample of what she had to say:

Weekly: Does your husband shop with you or buy you things?

Goldsberry: He tries to, but I'm so picky. I'd rather somebody just give me a credit card and say, 'Go get it yourself,' you know what I mean? I can't tell you what I want, but I know what I don't want.

Weekly: Do you like to shop?

Goldsberry: If somebody else is paying, I love to shop. I'm not one of these people who necessarily spends my regular everyday life dressed up. I'm not an accessorizer.

We hear you, Renee. However, someone as beautiful as you are could probably get away with the proverbial potato sack.

As for me, I listened to Jeannie do one more take of her song. There was lots of joyous dancing in Angel Square, and even the somewhat older actor who manned the Italian Ice cart (yes, real Italian Ice was served, and, no, I didn't get any) was grooving to the beat.

I, however, was quite hungry, and, since it was almost 6 p.m., I hopped on a subway and headed home.

What a lovely interlude, and thanks for sharing, love Paul, and Renee, and it seems the interviewer had fun, wish it were me, but glad I read the article. Thanks for sharing. JV

Your welcome

And it does seem like the interviewer had a great time. And John-Paul seems like the time who is a lot of fun off the set...and Renee seems nice as well.

I would love it if that had been me spending the day on the set of my favorite soap, One Life to Live.

There are so many cast members I would like to meet, and so many things I would like to ask them.
