The Canadian Census 2006

Ok Canada is doing their census this year (ever 5 years) and every household is supposed to technically fill one out... well there is a sahort simple version and then there is the long version which they radomly send to people. We got the long version. 40 friggin pages.... lol anyone else got it and planning to do it? Is it against the law not too? I mean what can they do.

I thought the longer version only went to households with more than 6 occupants.

As far as I know, it's not against the law to not complete the census but the information gathered is important as it can affect programs such as childcare, pension plans, language education, etc.

Yeah I dunno there are only 4 people in my house so I am not sure why we got it.... but they ask you practically everything but your underwear size.....

Have you moved recently? If so, that long questionnaire could be meant for the previous household.

Nope it must be completed, its the law.

You can be fined if you do not complete your census I believe.

Yeah I saw that on the news. We did it....... don't know if all our figures were accurate we just guesstimated alot of them but at least Mr. Harper has it now so he can't send me to prison.
