Great American Family, #GreatAmericanFamily

In addition to announcing that production has begun on the all-new holiday movie “Home Sweet Christmas,” starring Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain, “General Hospital”), Great American Family revealed that the previously announced “Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells” will not be going into production in 2024.

“Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells” was first announced in July as the next Great American Family movie that would star Bure opposite Mathison and would premiere in November as part of the network’s fourth annual Great American Christmas movie franchise.

Bure was to play Gracie, the Peachtree Inn’s perfect wedding planner whose mantra “No problems, only solutions waiting to be discovered” makes blushing brides’ dreams come true. When Charlie (Mathison) brings his sister and future brother-in-law to their former hometown of Butler, South Carolina, expecting to create a magical Christmas Eve wedding at the Inn for Lindsay and Josh, the trio is stunned when Gracie stubbornly declines the job, saying it is not possible to pull off the perfect wedding two weeks before Christmas. Eventually, Gracie relents and agrees to plan the wedding, only to discover there are more hurdles to overcome than expected.

An executive producer on the project, "Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells" was to be one of two holiday movies that were to star the former "Full House" actress this upcoming holiday season. The other movie, "A Christmas Less Traveled" co-starring Eric Johnson, is still a go while "Home Sweet Christmas" replaces "Jingle Bells, Weddings Bells" on the network's 2024 Christmas movie roster. Paula Elle had signed on to direct both movies, with "Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells" based on an original screenplay written by Katie Main. "Home Sweet Christmas" waswritten by Kevin Commins and Robin Dunne.

No reason was given for the change in production for “Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells.” At press time, it was unclear if the project would be moving forward at all, or if it will instead be pushed back as part of next year’s holiday movie slate.
