Webmaster Errol Posted August 13, 2024 Webmaster Share Posted August 13, 2024 On Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14, “The Young and the Restless” fan favorites Lauralee Bell and Michael Damian are crossing over to sister soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” as their characters Christine Blair and Danny Romalatti, respectively, In honor of their appearance, Bell and Damian sat down with Soap Opera Network to share what fans can expect and provide insight into how things came together. First things first: Bell says that although there were rumors from earlier this year that she would be appearing on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” they were just that at the time. To be sure, she even reached out to her older brother Bradley P. Bell to set things straight considering he is the half-hour show’s executive producer and head writer. While plans were not in place at the time, he did note he would think of something and that it would be fun. Months later, an idea came to light with word that the Danny character was on tour with his band, and they were making their way to cities like Paris and even Los Angeles, which is where the CBS soap is set. “He called, and he said, ‘I think that would be cool,’ And he’s like, ‘but let me… I gotta, like, you know, flush this through a little bit, so I’ll let you know. Just, can you make sure Michael’s free?’ And I said, ‘Michael’s free.’ And then we waited a week or two, and he said, I something’s happening on ‘B&B’ with Brooke, that this whole thing just makes organic, perfect sense,” said Laurelee, setting up how the show figured out how to integrate the two into its canvas for the two episodes. In story, while on the Los Angeles stop of “Danny’s World Tour,” Christine “Cricket” Blair and Danny Romalatti are asked to help celebrate the success of The Brooke’s Bedroom line at a party at the Forrester Mansion. “What’s really cool is that, well, then Brad said, ‘Well, we’d like you to perform ‘Rock On’ on the show, in the episode,'” adds Damian, who notes that the timing was perfect because he had been working on a remix version of the song before they got the call. “‘That’s really, that’s amazing you’re asking because I’m working on a 2024, remix, brand new. I just finished it. I’ll send it right now,’ Damian recalls telling Bell, adding, “I send it to him, and he said, ‘Yes, this is perfect. You got to perform this!’ But they didn’t tell me… I didn’t know what the story was. I didn’t know what was going on. I should have asked, ‘What’s the scene?'” Regardless, he says, “It’s great what they’ve done and how they’ve set it up, and I think the fans are gonna enjoy it, and it’s the first time this will be ever heard, the first time I’ve ever performed it, actually. So that’s kind of cool, but they know the song, but they’ll be seeing the remix and hearing the remix.” Bill Inoshita/CBS In addition to performing “Rock On,” fans will also be able to hear an updated version of Damian’s song “Wasn’t Nothing At All,” although it won’t be performed by the singer/actor. “[At the party] we’re like having a good time, and the DJs playing the other song, ‘Wasn’t Nothing At All,’ and we talk about it. As for who the pair will be interacting with during their two-episode appearance, fans can expect the bulk of their interactions to be alongside Katherine Kelly Lang and Thorsten Kaye (Brooke Logan and Ridge Forrester), but they’ll also be sharing scenes with other members of the Forrester family, among others. “There are some fun little surprise fanish moments. Also, there’s some background drama that we’re not sure what’s going on,” teases Damian. Bill Inoshita/CBS Make sure to tune into “The Bold and the Beautiful” on Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14 to find out!
