A GoFundMe has been created to help support the family of Johnny Wactor, the former “General Hospital” actor who was fatally shot early Saturday morning after he encountered three unidentified individuals attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his truck.

“I want to raise money for his mother, Scarlett, and his brothers, Lance and Grant to be able to travel the distance of 2000 miles (the many times it may take) to take care of this heartbreaking business which they have been sentenced,” said Michaelle Kinard, Wactor’s godmother and the fundraiser’s organizer on the page, which is seeking to raise $100,000 towards reaching that goal.

Scarlett Wactor, Johnny’s mother, posted on Instagram that she and the Wactor family approved the page.

At press time, just over $60,000 had been raised since the page was created on Monday. “Any excess donations will be donated to the charities the family chooses in memory of Johnny,” noted Kinard on the page.
