ARTICLE: Steve Burton Dating ‘Barbecue Showdown’ Contestant Michelle Lundstrom

Steve Burton (“General Hospital,” “Days of our Lives”) is officially dating Michelle Lundstrom, Daily Drama reported on Wednesday.

Although the outlet didn’t share any additional information about the couple, specifically how long they’ve been together, nor where or how they met, it did publish two undated photos of the pair out and about in New York City (see here). 

In one photo, Burton and Lundstrom are seen smiling while walking around with their hands intertwined. In another, the couple poses atop the Empire State Building’s Observation Deck, which provides an impressive view of the New York skyline.

Burton and Lundstrom have not gone “social media official,” whereby publicly acknowledging their relationship with photos and declarations. Still, Daily Drama, which houses Burton’s podcast that he co-hosts with Bradford Anderson (“General Hospital”), indicated Burton confirmed the relationship with them directly.

The relationship news comes nearly six months after Burton finalized his divorce from ex-wife Sheree Gustin, whom he had been married for nearly 25 years and with whom he shares three children (Makena, Jack and Brooklyn). Their separation was first revealed in May 2022, with Burton admitting Gustin’s then-announced pregnancy was not connected to him, stating, “The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids.”

Since then, Gustin has given birth to two additional children, daughters Izabella, unveiled to the public in February 2023, and Addy Jay, born earlier this year. "Some things I’ve realized with having my 4th baby in my 40s…I know how fast it goes by. I don’t sweat the small stuff, and I do my best to be present with all my children and live in the moment," said Gustin in an Instagram post shortly revealing the first photos of Izabela to the world.

As for Lundstrom, she is probably best known as a contestant during the second season of Netflix’s “Barbecue Showdown” (formerly “The American Barbecue Showdown”). The food competition series follows the best backyard smokers and competitive barbecuers competing for the title of American Barbecue Champion. Season 2 concluded in May 2023. 

While she didn’t win the competition, having been eliminated during the season’s sixth episode (out of eight), Lundstrom made a memorable impression on the judges and viewers at home.
