Earlier this week, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and NBCUniversal’s Peacock announced a multi-year agreement where Peacock gains exclusive naming rights to AEG’s L.A. LIVE Theater and Outdoor Plaza beginning Tuesday, July 11. The service will also become the exclusive streaming partner of the four million-square-foot Downtown L.A. Sports and Entertainment District.

As part of the rebrand to Peacock, the 7,100-seat concert and special events venue, formerly known as Microsoft Theater, will be named Peacock Theater, and the entertainment district’s 40,000 square-foot open-air plaza, formerly known as XBOX Plaza, will be known as Peacock Place. The agreement, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, strategically aligns the brands and establishes Peacock as the exclusive streaming partner of L.A. LIVE.

“Like Peacock, L.A. LIVE is at the epicenter of premium original entertainment, exhilarating sports, one-of-a-kind experiences and extreme fandom,” said Kelly Campbell, President of Peacock, and Direct-to-Consumer, NBCUniversal. “Through Peacock Theater and Peacock Place, we’ll have the opportunity to bring all the elements of our brand to life with the millions of fans who visit L.A. LIVE each year, while partnering with the incredible team at AEG to further cement Peacock as the ultimate destination for audiences.”

“We are ecstatic for the opportunity to be able to partner with the amazing leadership team at Peacock for this long-term relationship,” said Nick Baker, Chief Operating Officer of AEG Global Partnerships. “The content within the Peacock platform is ideal for our audiences and the synergies between both organizations around our variety of events is limitless.”

“We are incredibly excited for this groundbreaking partnership with Peacock and AEG,” said Lee Zeidman, President, Crypto.com Arena, Peacock Theater and L.A. LIVE. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to collaborate with Peacock to create new content and programming to complement our existing roster of amazing concerts, awards shows and special events we are known for at all of our iconic L.A. LIVE venues.”

According to Peacock, the comprehensive new agreement gives the streamer enhanced brand presence across L.A. LIVE including significant interior and exterior signage at Peacock Theater, fixed signage at Peacock Place, a branded content studio, and customized fan activations and brand integrations throughout select premium locations of the sports and entertainment district.

Additionally, Peacock will engage fans via signature digital signage elements, including a brand-new, dedicated LED marquee, located prominently at the corner of Figueroa and Olympic Blvds., one of downtown L.A.’s busiest intersections. The forthcoming dedicated LED marquee will feature two, state-of-the-art video boards permanently attached to L.A. LIVE’s façade and will provide Peacock with 100%share of voice, 365 days a year. With this new signage, Peacock can highlight its latest content including key series premieres, promotions, and special events taking place at L.A. LIVE over the course of the partnership. Once complete, the largest of the two new signs will measure more than 29 feet high and 56 feet wide. The second will stand at more than 29 feet high and 88 feet wide, providing Peacock with premium exposure to millions of people each year.  The signs will connect at the corner, with one facing Figueroa and the other facing Olympic and will remain a permanent fixture at L.A. LIVE for the length of the partnership.

In 2022, “Days of our Lives” held its annual “Day of DAYS” fan event at what will soon become Peacock Place, marking the first time the daytime drama series has physically held the event at a location outside of Universal CityWalk in Hollywood. With the rebrand, it’s likely that future in-person events featuring the show’s cast, specifically “Day of DAYS,” will now be held at the L.A. LIVE complex going forward.

    • I love the thought of Eva becoming this huge celebrity hairstylist, and the future character crossover that can happen with fun cameos, too.
    • One more point, researchers at publicly funded universities can profit from successful drug discoveries, but it is often a small percentage compared to the profits of the pharmaceutical company.  Thus, it makes no sense why both Xander and EJ would try to buy the hospital (and its right to the invention).  As opposed to buying a pharmaceutical company, which would make exponentially more profit from Versavix, as well as the many patents that they now own on Dr. Rolf's research! I assume the target audience is also distracted by the plot hole that University Hospital does not own a means of production for Versavix, and that's where the profits are found.  And, that if Xander benefitted from his wife's knowledge about a drug being researched at her hospital, and one day later he made a bid for said hospital, that's called insider trading.

    • Some other thoughts on today's show. I don't care for Bill/Hayley as a couple. I think that Bill is sexy and looked good on today's show. But I don't think that him and Hayley really have any chemistry. They seem mostly isolated on the show unless someone like Dani is sparring with one of them. I do wonder what is going on with Bill's hand and why it is trembling. He is trying to keep that from Hayley. I also don't care for June right now. I like Jacob/Naomi but would rather see them do something else than what they are currently doing with June right now.  I liked Nicole/Dani continuing to support one another after the fallout from their marriages. I think it's interesting that Nicole asked Dani if something was going on between her and Andre and Dani lied about it. I do wonder if Dani/Andre are starting to have stronger feelings for each other (maybe even falling for each other a little bit). It does seem like stronger feelings are developing between them and I wonder where that may lead for their storyline. And I enjoyed Anita/Vernon as well. I like that he supports her and wants her to do the reunion with the Articulettes. It does seem like at one of them really doesn't want much to do with her after she reached out on today's show. But maybe they will reunite and there will be drama between her and her bandmates. I am interested in seeing who the show may cast as her bandmates. I hope they get a couple of good actresses in the role.
    • Looks like the Townhouse to me, I've been calling it Paulina's Townhouse (which Marlena and Kayla also use).
    • Angela Bassett was also on somewhere in 1985 wasn't she. The NY soaps did so much for struggling actors. That's one of the reasons I will never stop hoping we get more of them.
    • Oh, yeah as the episode went on, I love that they gave a plausible reason for him to back out. Most soaps who use an idea/story point to define a character would just drop it and make it seem so jarring and out of character. So I love common sense...or the SilkPress craziness...won out.
    • All these years later, and Shelly Burch is still one of the most striking women I've ever seen.
    • I really enjoyed today's show. Today was the most I have ever liked Martin. It was very sweet how he invited Eva to get to know his family. He has good chemistry with her (along with Kat). I liked how she got to know and started to bond with his family including Samantha who was understandably standoffish with her at first. I thought her styling Samantha with different looks at the end was cute. Martin's family is her family now too and I liked how he made that clear to everyone at pizza night at his home. The twins have a new Auntie.

I think it will be interesting to watch Martin/Eva bond along with her bonding with the rest of his family. And seeing how others including Nicole and especially Kat react to that. I thought for a moment that Kat might actually show up at pizza night after Martin invited her but she didn't. I also enjoyed Eva trying with Kat. They do have chemistry together and they are cute, lol. I do think they could end up being twins, but even if they aren't I still enjoy them together. Whether it's sparring or Eva trying to bond with her or whatever.
    • Hahaha. It was worth a try. Alas.
