As expected, due to ongoing ABC News coverage surrounding the federal indictment against former President Donald J. Trump, “General Hospital” was once again preempted on Tuesday, June 13. As a result, all episodes are being pushed back by one day, with today’s scheduled episode now set to air today, June 14. This is the second time in less than a week in which the daytime series was preempted due to news coverage surrounding the former president.

In place of an original, in timezones not impacted by ABC News coverage of Trump being arraigned at a Miami federal court, the network broadcast a repeat episode of “General Hospital” first aired on Friday, April 29, 2022. In the episode, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) arrives at General Hospital. Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) tells Michael (Chad Duell) she doesn’t want to be alone. Brando (Johnny Wactor) tries to calm Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). Ava (Maura West) is not unimpressed. Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) eavesdrops on Spencer (Nicholas Chavez).

On Friday, June 12, Jack Smith, Special Counsel for the Department of Justice, laid out the 37-count indictment against the former president wherein Smith told the world, “I invite everyone to read it in full to understand the scope and the gravity of the crimes charged. The men and women of the United States intelligence community and our armed forces dedicate their lives to protecting our nation and its people. Our laws that protect national defense information are critical to the safety and security of the United States and they must be enforced. Violations of those laws put our country at risk.”

In a tweet, the official “General Hospital” handle noted the preemption, saying, “Due to ongoing breaking news coverage, today’s scheduled episode of #GeneralHospital will air tomorrow.”
