On Facebook, Melissa Archer (“Days of our Lives,” “One Life to Live”) announced her beloved cat, Bailey, has sadly passed away after a short battle with cancer.

“My sweet baby girl. My heart aches knowing I’ll never again have you on my chest when I sleep. Hearing your purr that could calm me in an instant. You always knew what I needed (except sleep). Your loving paw to my face when I needed affection, your warmth wrapped around me when I needed a hug,” said Archer.

She added, “I’ll never forget your insane acrobatic skills as a kitten, sling back flips just to catch the flying bird. Your talent for scaling screen doors when you wanted to come outside to where I was. Your personality was unique – you were funny, but loving, spiteful, but forgiving. You knew how to to tell me what you wanted and never afraid to ask. (Especially when I was sleeping). I hate that I didn’t see the signs sooner. You were so good at acting like you were just fine. I’m sorry the cancer got you and caused you any time of suffer. I’ll miss everything about you. I love you Bails.”

Condolences to the actress.
