As expected, “General Hospital” was nationally preempted today, June 28 due to ongoing ABC News coverage of the January 6th Committee hearings. This marks the fourth time the show has been preempted nationally due to public hearings recalling the circumstances surrounding the 2021 Capitol Assault.

According to a tweet on the show’s official Twitter handle, today’s previously scheduled all-new episode of the daytime drama series will air tomorrow, June 29. All other scheduled episodes will now shift forward by one day, and in time zones not impacted by news coverage, a repeat episode will be shown.

The first committee hearing took place on Thursday, June 9 and aired in primetime. All other hearings have since taken place in the daytime and have impacted the airing schedule of many daytime broadcast shows particularly “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “GMA3: What You Need to Know,” “The Talk” and “The Young and the Restless.”

It was the actual New Years Eve to New Years Day episode where the song Auld Lang Syne plays from scene to scene. Fireworks are going off. Cameron and Joss kiss. Carly sees Drew on the bridge. Sonny is drunk and Dante takes his keys. Dante later makes out with Sam on the couch.

About 40 minutes aired in NY.
