After five seasons of lying, cheating, backstabbing and sacrilegiousness, “Greenleaf,” OWN’s top-rated faith-based drama, will conclude its run on the Oprah Winfrey Network when its final season premieres next month on the cabler.

Announced over the weekend with the release of season five’s teaser trailer (shown below), the final season of the drama series will premiere next month as the Greenleaf family does everything in their power to regain control of their Memphis megachurch from Bob Whitmore and his Harmony and Hope Ministries.

“Greenleaf” stars Lynn Whitfield, Merle Dandridge, Keith David, Desiree Ross, Lovie Simone, Tye WhiteGregory Alan Williams, Kim Hawthorne, Lamman Rucker, Deborah Joy Winans, and Oprah Winfrey in a recurring role. The series has received 10 NAACP Image Award nominations since debuting in 2016, winning for Outstanding Drama Series in 2020.

The fourth season of the series kept the show number one on cable among African American viewers and averaged 1.1 million viewers. Season five premieres in June.
