I don't think there is a basis for considering Wheeler as Goutman's protége. It is true that he hired her as a Director before anyone else did. But that's not going very far. And, then, PGP ran a Development program where they had 2 Directors shadow Goutman to learn his job as EP from him. Those 2 people were Wheeler and Scott MicKinsey (Beverlee's son who has Directed at GH, Y&R and does now at DOOL) At the end of that period of time they hired Wheeler to be the new EP at GL.
