Is there a way to NOT merge your replies?

In the ATWT Episode List thread, I'd like to sometimes post multiple years, but keep the years in separate posts... Yet if I post too fast since my previous post, the board automatically merges the posts.
In general, I actually like this feature, but I wonder if there's a way to turn it off in specific instances?
