60 pages in. So far... Very nice, has the potential to become spectacular.

Not me, either.

But, I am reading

I'll Be Damned: How My Young and Restless Life Led Me to America's #1 Daytime Drama

by Eric Braeden

and I'm re-reading

My Life to Live: How I Became the Queen of Soaps When Men Ruled the Airwaves

Oh, it's still remains one of my top 10. I recommend it, but not to anyone. It's not everyone's cup of tea  Where do you usually stop at? I had an issue with Ana Karenina... with never being able to go past the first 100 pages and once I did... I looved it. Sometimes it's like that.

If anyone is interested, I've been writing a soapy novel series set on the coast of Maine. As a fan of Dallas and Melrose Place, it's written in that vein. I'm four novels in with the fifth in the works.

Pressing Matters, Last Will & Punishment, Battle Lines Drawn, and The Paper Wars.

For the past week I've binged 3 Freida McFadden books. She seems to be the most popular author right now in the local bookstores. Nothing that deep... just popcorn thrillers.

7/10 - it was nice... my first book of this author. Really fast and full of suspense... But in the end there are a few moment when you need to question the logic and the reality. The overall quality of writing in terms of dialogue is also quite poor. But still such a thrilling ride!

5/10 - interesting premise, very similar to Misery by Stephen King... but it starts getting really stupid by the middle. In the end, I didn't even care about the protagonist. The quality of writing was better in this one in terms of dialogue... compared to Never Lie, but the plot and the twists MADE NO SENSE.

9/10 - the best of the 3 books I've read so far. Very obviously a homage to Psycho. Full of suspense. The best written overall.

OVERALL - I can't stop binging this bish's cheap thrillers. ezgif-46b7b83c3c73c2.gif.f8296ae142a64af

In the past year I have read several of her books. They are great, quick reads. Nothing meaty. Just fun, campy stuff to distract from "the real world". I will agree that by the end of some of them there is no logic. It becomes more about a twist after twist than reality, but hey, we watch soaps!

Yeees. Hahahha. Can you recommend me a book of hers? I'm looking for the next one and will probably jump to the bookstore before it closes tonight. I've only read these three. I think I can't stop till the Freida itch is gone.  😂

I have read Do Not Disturb and Never Lie which I both liked because they were kinda gothic, creepy. lol

I've also read:

The Boyfriend, The Tenant, The Inmate, The Perfect Son, The Teacher, Ward D, The Coworker, One by One.

Of these, I'd say Ward D and One by One were probably my favorites. The Teacher was also good. I'm waiting for my local library to get more. lol. I read way to much to buy all the books I want to read. (I can read at "work")

I was just thinking about "One by one" and you just confirmed it. Yeeey. Thank you. 😍 Gonna wait for my husband to come home and off to the bookstore.

P.S. - I think her new book is out tomorrow. The Intruder... I think it's called.

P.S. 2 - I love how in pretty much every book I've read of hers so far... There is a blizzard and the protagonist can't move due to the weather conditions. Freida loves her blizzard. 😂😍

Update - got One by one... God that dopamine rush when you buy a brand new book in a bookstore is... like a drug. The smell of the paper... OH! SUBLIME. I used to be veeery addicted to buying books and have an entire room full of them in my old house. I hope this doesn't start me up again. 😂

So... One by One... here go!

I finished One by one! Liked it, but I grew tired of the low quality writing. So decided to jump to the bookstore again and I bought this.

So I'm only 30 pages in and it's good. My first taste of this writer. We'll see how it goes. The goodreads score is very good, but we all know that is very irrelevant sometimes.

Update - I'm enjoying this book by Harlan Coben A LOT. I may be buying more of his stuff after I finish it.
