Members detroitpiston
I love this channel! Especially Film Noir Saturdays. I finally got rid of cable because it gives me the same fix as TCM and FOX Movie Channel
Members quartermainefan
I've never heard of this channel. "The Last Hurrah" is a marvelous movie with Spencer Tracy, Jeffrey Hunter and Basil Rathbone. You can't go wrong with Tracy or Rathbone, and for my money Rathbone is the best villain Hollywood's golden age ever turned out. John Ford was considered the finest director of old Hollywood and for good reason, as it is quite possible he never turned out a bad movie. Members DAMfan
In the Graduate, none of the older adult characters are referred to by their first names, only the younger ones (Benjamin Braddock, Elaine Robinson and Carl Smith). Members SoapDope
One of my favorite Spencer Tracy films is the original Father Of The Bride (1950) with Elizabeth Taylor. Liz was planning her wedding to her first husband Conrad "Nicky" Hilton during the production. The wedding helped publicize the film and it was a hit at the box office. When the follow up Father's Little Dividend was being filmed in 1951, Liz was already divorcing Nicky after 8 months of marriage.
