Members MissLlanviewPA
I am a GIGANTIC fan of the Peanuts series, both the comic strip and the specials, but ESPECIALLY the specials. I grew up watching A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown...there's really too many to name right here. I also LOVED The Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pao_SasEs1k I should also mention that one of my favorite characters is actually Frieda (the one with the naturally curly hair), even though she was phased out over time: She even had her own theme song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE4esCgtIqM This music was actually used in The Great Pumpkin when Linus jumped into a pile of leaves ("Never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker" ). I'll post more stuff soon. I should warn you guys, though: I'm a total Peanuts nerd, so--watch out!

I think this was used during a few Charlie Brown & Snoopy Show segments. I'd like her more if she weren't such a dumb blonde so often--we're not ALL like that! One of my favorite Peanuts moments ever--Woodstock deserved more credit than he got. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yH_RlC6Ahe8
Members MissLlanviewPA
I'm not gonna lie--I love this song. Flashbeagle FOREVER! It was recently released on DVD under the new "Peanuts Friends Forever" series (and yes, I do have it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvqVAF7b6cE This special dealt entirely with Charlie Brown's crush on the Little Red-Haired Girl. Members EricMontreal22
I think a lot of the later specials were vastly subpar, but the earlier ones are classic. I was obsessed with Peanuts as a kid. I'm glad so many are getting proper DVD releases now, but I wish they would finally issue my favorite 80s special, Snoopy the Musical. I prefer it to the earlier one also based on a live stage musical, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (though I'm glad that's finally on DVD). With the comics, I think by the 70s they started to get a bit tired, the collections from the 60s are my favorite (the 50s ones are fun too partly just because they looked so different with the bigger heads etc--sorta like the comic Shultz did before with some of the same characters called, I think, Lil' Folks). It is all on youtube though (God, I can still sing all these songs... I think I wore out my video as a kid) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSSgQXkN_jw Speaking of musicals, I still always associate Kristen Chenowith as Sally since the first time I ever saw her was the song she did from the Good Man Charlie Brown Broadway revival on the Tony Awards: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ix8TfqtNis
Members MissLlanviewPA
I also love the 60s/70s specials best, but I also like a lot of the ones from the early 80s, too. And I also loved Snoopy the Musical! I liked the "I Know Now" and "Edgar Allen Poe" songs best. But the "Book Report" song from YAGMCB is great, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZEmxby8g8A

Members MissLlanviewPA
I've always liked A Boy Named Charlie Brown, but this song always makes me a bit sad. Not just for Charlie Brown, but because it reminds me of the girls who teased me throughout middle school . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbBxrQhcBdY Speaking of which, there were actually four full length feature Peanuts films: A Boy Named Charlie Brown (1969) Snoopy Come Home (1972) Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown (1977) Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown! (And Don't Come Back!) (1980) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jj6HFafZwc&feature=related

Stacy Ferguson (Fergie) was the voice of Sally here, but someone else apparently sang this song.
Members DRW50
The voices in the later specials are just so tough to take - the one they always show with Charlie Brown Christmas has such a bad Charlie voice, and Linus is even worse. Members MissLlanviewPA
I do have a preference for the earlier voices. Peter Robbins was the original Charlie Brown--he did the voice until A Boy Named Charlie Brown in 1969. Tracy Seaford was the original Lucy, but Sally Dryer did her voice for the rest of the 60s (most of the time--I think she was also Violet or (not Peppermint) Patty (of the orange checkered dress) voice in a few of them), but my favorite is probably Pamelyn Ferdin, who was in A Boy Named Charlie Brown and a favorite special of mine, Play It Again, Charlie Brown (1971). Fun Fact: Sydney Penny was the voice of Lucy in It's Magic, Charlie Brown (1981).
