Best of The Oughts

so many lists of the best of the year, but it is also the end of a decade, and the oughts have come and gone. How did the soaps fare and what were the highlights?

I think for me the episode that stands apart from everything I saw was the airplane episode of Days Of Our Lives from a few years back where it was shot so differently you could cut the tension with a knife.

The decade ended last year.

The decade ended last year.

It's the old "2000-2009 vs. 2001-2010" argument of how to count a decade. I usually go with the former myself, but in reality technically there was never a year zero I don't think so the latter would be correct.

In regards to quatermainfan's question, of the best years for the soaps I had watched in the 00s:

ATWT: 2000-2003, 2005

B&B: 2000-2006

Days: 2002, 2006, 2009-2010

GL: 2002, 2004-2006

Passions: 2001-2004(the only time I ever consistently watched the show)

Y&R: 2000-2004, 2008
