February 8, 201016 yr Author Member There seems to be a real hostility towards most of the P&G soaps. Did Time not care for Procter & Gamble? I remember reading that this article was put out around the time DAYS was starting the slide downhill which led to their very ugly period in 1979-1981. Well it was very early 1976--so DAYS still had a few classic years in them To be fair, I think if one wasn't a watcher already and tuned into some soaps, the mid 70s P&G serials would seem tremendously old fashioned and dull.

February 9, 201016 yr Member JP could you find out what the actual tear drop ratings are for each soap? yes, i will look sometime this weekend. I do remember the P&G soaps got very low tear drops. And Susan Hayes told me that everyone was shocked a P&G soap didnt get the cover because Time had done a shoot with all the soaps and then picked the best soap and picture to be on the cover. I also think GH did pretty low.
