ON SOAP OPERA DIGEST AND WEEKLY ONLINE

http://www.soapoperadigest.com/soapstarstats/kristianalfonsobio/

Kristian Alfonso developed an early passion for figure skating. She became a Junior Olympic Champion with bright prospects, until a tobogganing accident caused multiple fractures to her landing leg. The Wilhelmina modeling agency offered Alfonso a contract, and by age 15, her "fancy face" graced the covers of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. An NBC casting director saw her photographs and gave Alfonso her first acting role, opposite Rock Hudson in THE STAR MAKER (1981), a TV movie. She was then asked to audition for Hope Williams on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, but she passed, fearing she might actually land the role and have to move to Los Angeles. A year later, she did audition. When she tripped and fell down the staircase in the Horton house during her screen test, her clumsiness captivated producers and she was cast. Alfonso left the role in 1987, returned in 1990 for a 13-week stint and came back once again in 1994 as amnesiac Gina. She has played Gina as Hope, Hope, and Princess Gina.

Scott Hamilton Expected to Recover After Brain Surgery

Benign tumor reappears after six-year absence

Olympic skating legend Scott Hamilton underwent brain surgery, after a benign tumor that was removed in 2004 came back.

The 51-year-old figure skating gold medalist from the 1984 games is expected to make a full recovery, his representative told People magazine.

"They're happy with the progress of the entry process and now [doctors] can begin to get rid of the tumor, spokeswoman Michelle Thornbury said Wednesday, midway through the operation.

The surgery was done at a Boston hospital, with Hamilton's wife, Tracie, and brother, Steve, on hand to provide support. Hamilton could be back home by next week, Thornbury said.

Men's Figure Skater Fashions (David Muir reporting)

Evan Lysacek and Johnny Weir got into a war of words over fashion. Apparently, Weir was offended that Lysacek called him a swan for the outfit he wore in the famous swan routine. Weir responded by calling his rival "a mongoose."

Watching season final of BGJW - seeing JW robbed of a medal at the Olympics this year again - was sad.

:(
