Members Jane1978
Well, I don´t think MA will be fired and I cetainly don´t want DAYS to be canceled. I just hope someone anyway finally realises Reilly is not the man who can refresh this show no matter what type of stories he is trying. DAYS has probably most popular cast in daytime. With all this huge names and legendary characters on, with their original portrayes mostly still in parts, it has a potential to be the most watched soap on television. It just need someone really creative behind the scenes who will infuse life into Salem again. Everything else is on place and set.
Members Chanel
Phoenix, if you think us speculating about DAYS being cancel is bad what till early 2006 and every other SOD issue is Days with the saying "Is Days cancel.....What will happen......The Countdown.........One more Month to go" January-March will be a hectic time for DAYS. Members Keith
Phoenix, everyone's got an opinion. DAYS is my soap as much as it is any of the DAYS fans on here. Keep in mind it's mostly fans doing the complaining -- with every right. That said, if you don't want to hear it, don't read it. If you start to see sometihng you don't like, just skip the post altogether. It's pointless to get into it with a person. Regardless of the time of year. That's my very merry advice to you. Word to Chanel. If they think this is bad, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Members PhoenixRising05
I know its an opinion Kieth and I do realize that there will be coverage of cancellation rumors in the months to come with magazines and such but I just don't think it should be brought into discussion at this time of year just like it shouldn't have been at the 40th anniversary (although that was not anyone's fault it was in the media so whatever). As for simply ignoring negative Days post sometimes you can't do that because bad comments are mixed in to posts but why would I want to ignore other posts? I read other people's opinions because I expect them to read mine. Its fun to do that and see what people like and don't like. I love to argue with people and defend my Days. Like I said, cancellation rumors and peopel saying Days is dead and all don't usually bother me (although I hate hearing any rumors that are pure speculation) but I hate hearing negative things around this time. Sorry if others don't see it like this but I do. I will try to avoid reading it but that is kinda hard. After the holidays is fine because I know that is when the intense negotiations will begin. No matter what though-I don't care who is in charge Days is going nowhere. Call me deluted or overconfident but thier demos and overall numbers are still good and NBC has done so much publicity for Days' 40th and for the Rolling Stones thing that I don't see them cancelling a show that they have been hyping for the last 2 months. Rest assured Days is going nowhere whether Reilly is here or not . Oh and Jane, Chanel, and Keith-I appreciate your last posts. They weren't attacking or threatening at all. Normally, on other message boards, I would be attacked for posting something like I did but you guys handled it well so thanks-this has always been a great environment for opinions and still is so thank you all for that. Its great to have posters respect each other and so some restraint on things that require people to explain themselves at times-especially when some of my posts can come off the long way. Thanks . Members irish secra
I still can't believe that for the third Christmas in a row Jennifer is mourning a dead Jack! This is just so darn depressing! Is it too much to ask for Jack to be alive and in Salem once in three years for Christmas! And if I have to watch a tearful Jennifer hang Jack's ornament one more time I will throw up - Jack should be there to hang his own ornament - darn it! Members King
Keith, we all know if (WHEN!?) they start the cast cutting, they won't cut people we want to see cut! It will be the vets.
Members Keith
Not necessarily. DAYS is the only soap currently with a 40+ main cast. And a majority, holiday-only vets not included, are basically props. DAYS is no GH, they've gotten better in their balance of story. As long as Corday is around, no Horton (I say that very loosely) will be cut unless it's on their terms. When I say Horton, of course I'm talking The Hayeses (They've come and gone of their own accord for years), Mickey and Maggie...(I mean, hello, the took the time to recast Mickey Horton. Granted, at the time, they gave him a story, and Suzanne Rogers was fired, but... again, there are so many stipulations to that. Same with Frances/Alice. Looking at the show, do I think anyone will be getting the boot anytime soon? Of course not. DAYS is king of having a dragging backburner cast. They love to have these characters they can just pull of their asses when they need them. I'm just saying they should. But, DAYS is a special child. Members King
I see Rogers, Ingle, Parker, Aniston, Northrop, Jones, and Reynolds getting axed before I see Hutzler, Melvin or Brandt go....not sure how many of them have contracts as opposed to recurring, but if they are written out, it would definitely free up SOME budget space. Members Keith
Parker, Jones, Reynolds, totally. Northrop, maybe. He's probably not sticking around long anyway. Ingle would be a god damned wish. They all have contracts that they don't need. I'd prefer seeing Rogers on recurring, and have her paid on when we see her basis. Maybe if she didn't have the constant comfort of a contract, she'd get picked up elsewhere? I'd hate to see Jones/Reynolds go. Although, if they go, Boyd and Orange are likely to follow. That'll be goodbye to any diversity on the show, LoL. At the same time, I see it. Reilly's current version of Celeste has no place on the newly traditionalized JER DAYS. At the same time, these guys all fall into the we have them but don't really wanna use them, but do every so often card, that some of the elss favorables have been falling into lately (Hutzler, Pinson, and others could be mentioned, but I can't thinkof them right now). I don't see them doing any more cuts. Save maybe for Northrop, 'cause boy's got to be a pretty penny, for a six month/one-year contract. But that's just me.
