Does the national media even care about soaps anymore...don't think so.

This is from the Associated Press concerning Sunday's Daytime Emmy Awards. Notice what they say about OLTL.

Among programs, ABC's "All My Children" received a leading 19 nominations, although Lucci was not among them. PBS' "Sesame Street" had 15 nods, followed by NBC's "Days of Our Lives" with 13, Ellen DeGeneres' syndicated talk show with 12, NBC's "One Life to Live" with 11, and CBS' "The Young and the Restless" with 10.

Besides giving buzz where they wanted it I'm looking for what they say about OLTL. I can't find it... To answer if the nat'l media care probably not I do notice stories picked up by them but I don't know if they care or not....they should because IMO its as American as apple pie...I grew up watching soaps when written well the stories are awesome unfortunately many aren't.

Well, I meant that they don't bother to double-check their facts before posting...after all it is the Associated Press.

It's just like when they misidentify soap actors...not just mispelling their name, but getting their names completely screwed up with others. One of the big magazines did that earlier this year.

My gripe is that, while the national media may sometimes report on soaps, they usually do so only have-a*sed.
