David's always been written to be wealthy. He's the cardiosurgeon of ALL cardiosurgeons. Top in his field. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to at least have a couple million stashed in several accounts across the globe.

As for the cliffhanger, it's a CLIFFHANGER! The whole point was wondering who Annie had stabbed. Seeing the confrontation would've taken the suspense out of the cliffhanger. You can tell we're in a instant gratification, leave nothing to the imagination generation if we can't even appreciate a little bit of suspense. I don't read spoilers anymore, basically because when I quit watching last year, I got out of the habit. So I've been enjoying all of these twists and turns in the stories. I didn't know that Rebecca was white. I didn't know that Kendall was gonna be in another of her famous Komas. I didn't know Brot was alive. I didn't know that Annie was going to stab Erica. Somebody in the tower is doing something right, because all fall long, AMC threads have been 2 and 3 pages long every day... And it's been ages since that happened.

That takes a lot of discipline, that I frankly, don't have! I'm on a need to know basis, and I always need to know.

Great cliffhanger! Annie stabbed Erica. :o

more like she lost the stable, happy family life that she found and built with Ryan. Its something she never really had before. Her parents favored Ritchie over her growing up, even though he was the bad seed that couldnt do wrong. She was hated and her father disowned her. She thought she had found happiness with Terry until she realizes what a disgusting piece of filth he was and ran to protect Emma from him. Then she met Ryan. He was this white knight that took her in, came to her rescue and loved her unconditionally. For the time he seemed like her perfect match and they were in sync with one and another. Even with Greenlee trying to tear them apart, the love that they had was strong to withstand that.

Then Ritchie came to town and the world that she had started to shake. Ritchie represented what she had left behind. The family that rejected her, the mistakes she had made and the past she had moved on from. He was a threat to her new family and she tried to get rid of him and slowly we saw her start to unravel in the process. Her relationship with Ryan remained strong despite this though.

And then Ryan lost his memory and that was the main catalyst for her going completely crazy. Ryan was horrible. One minute he was in love with Annie and talking about having a new baby with her and the next he doesnt even remember her and he's chasing after Kendall. Thats quite a blow. And when he was done chasing Kendall, he was all about loving Greenlee, who initially provoked him bc she was jealous he didnt remember her. Annie lost her patience bc Greenlee simply would not go away despite being told repeatedly to leave them alone. Ryan didnt help matters when he started lying to Annie, making her think that he remembered and loved her, started using her for sex, all while lusting for Greenlee.

Her mental health deteriorated and it was quite obvious. Instead of trying to get her help, people made fun of her. She was provoked and ridiculed. Kendall was the biggest perpetrator of that. As horrible and despicable as the things she did, it was all about preserving her family. In her twisted mind, she had logic for everything even though it made little to no rational sense. We just saw her kidnap Emma bc she thought it would cause Ryan to realized that he loved her and that they could once again be a family. For the first time in months, she looked genuinly happy when it seemed as if she had accomplished that. She clung onto Ryan bc she wanted to keep her family together. She wanted Emma to have both her parents together and in love , just like they were when they were their happiest before Greenlee and Ritchie tried to ruin it. If yo go back this past year, all her actions stem from this desperate need of hers. Im definetly not condoning anything she has done at all, and Ive more than expressed my disapproval of her actions, but I can understand the motivation behind them.

Annie's breakdown works bc it all makes sense. If you look at it piece, by piece, not so much but taken everything into consideration and being aware of the bigger picture, yeah it does. Its pretty sad the lengths that she has gone through. The girl needed help like 6 months ago and I cant beleive she was allowed to just walk around town doing all this stuff when she wasnt even trying to hide her insanity. Ryan should have paid more attention to her and sent her up to Oak Haven. Hopefully she can go now and get the help she so desperately needs

Wonderful analysis, Cheap! She is definitely the #1 reason to watch AMC right now.

Re the rich thing--that's bugged me about Pine Valley for a while, how RICH it's been. Unde Pratt he's actualy written a few characters as poorer (or at least middle class) again but I had one big complaint with this big fundraiser. In the wake of all the natural disasters in the US that have effected the poor it seems almost in poor taste to watch a bunch of SUPER rich people have a fundraiser to rebuild their SUPER rich (pine cone motel excepted ;) ) town when a check from two of them could do just that.
