This is the first time an actor has been nominated for "Days" since 2004 (James Reynolds). This is the most acting nominations "Days" has received since also getting four nominations in 1989 (Joseph Campanella, Jane Elliot, Arleen Sorkin and Darrell Utley). "Days of Our Lives" now has received 170 Daytime Emmy nominations overall. Thaao Penghlis (Tony & Andre) has been nominated for lead actor. Overall, this is the tenth nomination for "Days" in this category. Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) won in 1979 and Leann Hunley (Anna) won in 1986. Patrika Darbo (Nancy) was the last to be nominated in 2000. Members Y&RWorldTurner
I think DAYS acting nominations this year is a combination between block voting with CBS, and Ed Scott. The siding with CBS is obvious, but I think Scott's credibility within the industry helped them bloc vote with CBS. This reminds me of how under the old system during the 90's how Another World would always get overlooked, but when Jill Farren Phelps became EP, she bloc voted and AW got many acting nominations in a single year, something it hadn't done in years. Members NYC123
I am happy that DAYS got some noms. Some diversity. But I really hope its not a repeat of Port Charles. When they were canned in 2003, during the 2003 Daytime Emmy Awards they had 2 acting noms and Best Drama nom.

Members Cyberologist
I find this whole process rather strange and political and I don't get it I won't watch it I did last time only because of Genie Francis. Its something definitely wrong for me via Cy1 "Interview Michael Bruno" Speaks about Nominations
