n.branco's offensive in "the rules"

I don't see anyone being rude but rather someone being critical of the original poster and offering criticism. That is exactly what my point was in another thread and yet I get warned over it

I also am not of the opinion that you just have to be respectful of a person's opinion if you feel it is unworthy and wish to critique it.

This makes very little sense, I'm sorry. He makes mention that he wants various characters to be gay, characters already established on their shows, these characters happen to be white. Would you rather he champion making gay the non-existent minority characters that populate daytime? I could understand if he was just making up a brand new character but you expect him to say "I want Felicia to be white BUT BEFORE THAT Latina. Yes, Latina. Many don't know this but Stephanie is actually Mexican."

And it's funny to see a fan of Passions find his innocuous comments offensive. Passions has offended every subset of humanity. It had an Army of Lesbians and a hermaphrodite serial killer for God's sake. Half of it's female cast has been raped. It has a man/woman sleep with his/her own FATHER. It takes the cake in offensive storytelling.

Uhh, you missed the point completely.

couldn't y&r's lily, b&b's det. baker, the daughter of amc's jessie and angie, days' lexie all be suggested as lgbt characters of color? there's never a mention for that. instead branco says "make b&b's storm, felicia and ridge jr, oltl's sara, atwt's brad, etc. lgbt." and they are all white characters. is there no need for lgbt characters of color?

and regarding your stephanie is mexican plot, LOL! that is something only oltl, branco's fave soap, would do. they are the only soap to make blair a KOREAN woman who suddenly became a white, southern woman.

btw, i am not a "fan" of passions. i don't follow that soap. the soaps i follow majority of the time are the b&b, atwt, oltl. branco and whoever else can bash passions if they want to. but it's so pathetic and extremely biased to be praising oltl for its may sweeps storylines like the way branco does when it is not even airing yet! and it's cruel to the cast, crew and fans of passions to still be dissing it when it's already cancelled. that's unprofessional branco at his usual.

So what....he loves OLTL....big whoop. So do I, but does that make me any worse than this guy?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's alright to disagree, but there's a thin line between a disagreement and an argument....and that line has been crossed here.

Came back to too many reports about this one thread.. Either we all respect one another's views or threads where the constant complaints have been coming from will be closed, warnings issued, and the next step will be taken....

We are all adults on this board, we can act like it and respect one another. If we can give respect to those we see on a daily basis, I don't see why it's so hard not to be able to do it on a message board.

about it I think Jan is a fine supporting part for a solid daytime vet (probably someone from the P&G soaps), as opposed to someone from the production location who is clearly cheaper. Which seems to govern some casting. I get the rationale, but I would start going through the ATWT/GL, etc. rolodex myself.
    • I dont mind Jan. She's good in the minor capacity she is used.
    • tbqh I don't care about Jan, I don't care about Ashley and I think Jon Lindstrom as Joey is an acquired taste. Jon is a great actor but certain things are in his zone and then some are not. Some days I find Joey credible and compelling, but the stuff with him hanging around the Golden Corral, grumbling about Doug and bitching at Randy is not amazing. If he had material on par with what MVJ wrote for Ryan/Kevin on GH back in the day it'd be a different story. I do think he has real chemistry with Vanessa, which is in large part due to MVJ clearly molding that character (and hiring an appropriate actor) in the Lucy Coe vein when she reinvented Lucy in the '90s as well. But I am not here to spend 6+ months watching Jon glower a lot (which is what he's doing half the time to carry weak story) and make more vague dire pronouncements while Jen Jacob gets flustered and weepy over "Daddy" or whatever would come of that storyline. Putting them together sounds like a recipe for doom to me. But I may be in the minority on that.
    • I know this will never happen. But... Halle Berry as Dani Dupree(BTG). She would rock this role, it's in her wheelhouse.
    • When I see how bad the Ashley/Derek scenes are, I know there must be a larger purpose and Joey being her father is the thing that makes the most sense.  My take on it is that Ashley knows Joey is her father but doesn't know Joey. Maybe he was there when she was a child or just not around at all but I believe Jan when she says she didn't lie to her daughter about who her father was. Maybe she left him when she discovered his dangerous lifestyle.  I do think they could really jump start the character of Ashley if they hurry and do this. Jan is a great character and her scenes with Ashley have been helpful. This would further integrate Ashley into the canvas and give her something dramatic to do. With her working at the hospital along with Doug, it could lead to complications if she learns Doug is involved with her father. I just need is sooner rather than later because Derek is tanking her character. I need a distraction.

    • The stories are awful. I'm not enjoying any of them. All I'm left with is Sally in a plastic dress.
