In her latest column "Marcie Surrenders Her Son: A Rare Soap Grand Slam" Marlena de la Croix compares the peaceful denouement of the Marcie Holds a Hostage Crisis Story on OLTL to like stories on GH:

"At the zero hour, Marcie did not shoot up the place or kill anyone in the macho manner in which Sonny or Jason probably would have on General Hospital. She was talked into surrender by her husband Michael, by reassuring her that no matter what happened he would stand by her and love her."

Check out the rest: see how superior OLTL really is in understanding the soap medium better than GH:

Great article!! She's so right. If it was GH, something would've blowned up, somebody would've died, instead of using love to tell a story.

This is my favorite line:

This is called writing which understands the medium it’s for. Daytime soap opera. Not The Godfather.

Bravo!!

Bravo!!!! I agree with every word. The entire showdown was excellent from start to finish. It displayed some of the best acting by ES, KB, and CS.
