Barack Obama Elected President!

Wow, Roman. That was a really interesting story and thanks for sharing. It's a whole different look at the Republican candidate. He seems to be more and more centrist than originally thought.

It seems like there's some interesting developments in the ticket on the Republican side. Palin seems to be much further right than McCain on prinicple and issue. That happens frequently but usually for geographic electoral advantage.

Well, that is the question. is he saying this because he feels it's the truth......or is he saying this becaseu he's running for president? I think he would have been in a much better position had he said this from the beggining, and not tried to kinda co-op the "Change" message during the RNC.

But we'll see. The sprint is on.

Wow, interesting tidbits coming out about the candidates today...

Palin, for example, said John McCain was wrong about drilling in ANWR... she believes they should be drilling there in her home state. She also sought to impose higher taxes on the big profits of Big Oil. That one is a surprise, eh?

Obama today said he won't do away with Bush's tax cuts right away. In what appears to be a shift in his position, Obama states that now isn't the time to do so while the economy is in the state that it is in.

Why? Why, Barack, is it the wrong time to raise taxes on the rich? Hmmm... Maybe he has been reading our posts here regarding what imposing a heavier tax burden on the job makers and creators does for workers in general. :o

Good news for those who wish to punish the rich, though... Obama reaffirmed his committment NOT to extend the tax cuts beyond their designated expiration...

She seems to be a base Republican. It shored that up for him, but how far right is she? I think that is one of the reasons why the MSM wants to sit down with her, to see where she stands on these issues now that she has been picked as JM's Vp mate.

Also, Wicca.....

Your Dawgs got screwed today. USC is still No.1, even though they didn't play.

This is what John McCain is all about. Since day one of becoming a Congressman he has been about doing what he thought was the right, rather than blindly voting with his party.

I like the way Sarah Palin put it in her speech, "In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers.

And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."

I dont understand why the coaches and press didnt just put USC at the the top to begin with. They are now just disrepecting GA and their fans.

I also saw Jeff Tubbin say, in his last comment while being interviewed by Bill Maher (A truly left-wing liberal who is so damn arrogant sometimes I have to shake my head, even though IA with him more times than not) say that John McCain has cancelled a interview because Campbell Brown was hard on one of his campaign people about SP's qualifications. Tubbin then said....

"Now, John McCain is supposed to negotiate nuclear treaties with Vladimir Putin.....but cancels his interview with Campbell Brown because she was too mean?"

Yeah, John McCain cancelled his interview with CNN's Larry King because of the Campbell Brown interview. Have any of you guys seen it? She doesn't leave much to the imagination as to what side she falls on. I'll try to find it on youtube.

The McCain campaign has cancelled all future CNN interviews because of the obvious bias. I do not think they were too "mean".

I know that he is not well liked within his party and they have not agreed on many of his policies. He didn't make any friends in the party (either party actually) with the McCain-Feingold Campaign Reform Bill but it was passed by creating a series of bipartisan alliances. Parts of that legislation are brilliant. Other parts (like the equal access to media which is too broad and can be used to shut down political talk radio) are not but it shows he's not afraid to buck the system and I have to respect that.

I originally thought McCain embraced the "Change" message because Obama kept billing him as the "same ol', same ol'" of Bush which he isn't at least not in some aspects. I have to do some more research on him and Obama before I make my voting decision.

And yes, my Dawgs got screwed. It was bad. It was really, really bad.

I thought of you when I saw the rankings. They came out today. Mizzou is 6th, again. They destroyed SEMO 52-3 yesterday and stayed at 6th.

I don't know what your Dawgs have to do, short of beating USC outright.

That is something I'm glad you and many others are doing. Looking over the issues and making your decision.
