I think it's fine that the students be given the chance. But I still don't see how that would be any different from what I suggested could happen. Is one amazingly good student going to save a teacher from the other 24 that don't give a da*n about their education? No.

Lol at Cindy just standing back there looking around.

Sorry, I'm not hated-filled or a bigot. Thank You Very Much. If I were a bigot I would not be supporting Sen. Barack Obama or nor would I support gay rights. My father and quite a few other family members are Republican and I do not hate them although I do hate some of my family member's ignorance to support W. Thankfully they are a few and far between in many family who still support W. And by the way I am white.

And I do agree with both Wales and bandbfan. There are those different instances that you both pointed out. I for one am an educator that thinks some like tenure is a bad thing. I have seen many teachers that do just about nothing but they have tenure and can't be removed without a bunch of red tape. But there are also teachers that tenure protects them from administators that is out to get them for different reasons. It is just that the education problem is not just going to be fixed by throwing money at it alone.

I went and read your post and maybe I'm missing something. In responding to the other poster I wasn't saying that he/she is not right, I just threw in that rare case and the fact that the chance for a good education be available. If children don't want to take advantage of it then that's on them.

There are a lot of problems with the educational system in California that includes: disinterested or unruly students, unqualified teachers, disinterested teachers, low budget, poor administration, and unsupportive parents. There are student that would do well if they had the opportunity and students who don't care at all. Some of the issues might possibly be resolved if the parents, teachers, and administrators worked together along with the students. Some will always remain. Those teachers who remain enthusiastic about teaching under the worst circumstances are truly special people.

We are not in a recesion. The last recesion that we actually went through was in 2001.

I am a middle class working man small business owner that would be tax to high heaven under Barack Obama. So as a non-rich, non-arrogant, middle class citizen I will be voting for McCain-Palin!

These type of comments and how they are applauded on this board have made me realize that some in this country have just lost site of common courtesy and civility.

Well, being a hater or a bigot covers more than just hating black or gay people... anyone can be a bigot, targeting any specific group.

But I'm feeling sort of... I dunno... softer tonight, if that makes any sense. I apologize for using the words I did to you... Maybe "intolerant" would have been a better choice. But it's a subjective thing. Regardless of whatever beliefs or ideas we share, or don't... I'll bet money that you are a cool person to know in real life. Politics obviously isn't everything. :)

Ughhh... what's wrong with me tonight??? LOL...

I like what the blogger had to say about McCain pointing out that Obama doesn't have scars from being in a POW camp in Vietnam. I don't have scars from that either and neither does George Bush. He can't even remember that he said that military service wasn't a qualification for being president but I guess now being a former POW is on the top of the list or is it just one with scars?

I think it just serves as a calming effect to sit back and read these posts. I find them very entertaining and amusing. Especially the ones that spew out cuss words and opinions of Palin being pathetic...so on..seems like fear to me. When you lose logic in arguments and let emotions control your message, something has gone amiss.

If the majority of posters on this board represent how Obama supporters carry themselves for the next two months, I have no doubt who will come out victorious in this election.

He was speaking figuratively about his wounds from republicans when he crossed party lines on several occasions. That is why he mentioned Obama. It makes more sense if you listen to the entirety of the context in which its used instead of thinking of the next clever thing to say. Maybe I am just different, but I actually listened to the message put out by the democrats last week and applauded several of the key points. Most here do not have the decency to even listen to the other side. It makes for a hard debate when you turn a deaf ear to your opponent.

    • Christian Streaty wrote her second freelance script today on Days. Surprised they gave the first funeral episode to a newbie.
    • And the third thing, which I have no cite for, and I may look to see if one is findable, but supposedly she said that the show had too much gay content in it. And, to be fair, that could be someone making a criticism about balance & not be bigotry but when it's added to the other, that's why it bugs people.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!
