Write down the date, May 23, 2008–the day Hillary Clinton lost her mind. The pressure of the race and the thought of not getting the Democratic nomination has driven the poor woman stark, raving mad.

In a meeting with the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader newspaper editorial board Mrs. Clinton said this:

"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out."

So she has to hang around just in case Barack Obama gets shot? I tell you, the lady has completely taken leave of her senses.

Here is the Clinton campaign’s attempt at defending her remarks:

"She was simply referencing her husband in 1992 and Bobby Kennedy in 1968 as historic examples of the nominating process going well into the summer. Any reading into beyond that would be inaccurate," responded Clinton campaign spokesperson Mo Elleithee."

I suspect the numbers of those who she complains about wanting to drive her out of the race might just be increasing by the minute.

They should leave her alone and let her keep talking. She is right about the media constantly asking why she hasn't dropped out but the rest is totally on her.

Well they will probably leave her alone since she apologized for the comment...we all say things at times that we regret and this is one incident. This does not make her a bad person but a real human who makes mistakes.

I most certainly agree. Saying this just may truly get the ball rolling. She knows what she's doing, and, if she would have stopped with the previous comments, maybe she wouldn't have said this.

Yep I agree, Wales. They can easily find one example from the 50s to present where a nominating process went into June and well beyond the end of the primary season.

She could have just not brought that up. What gets me is that her explanation is that she had the family on her mind......which does not explain the fact that she said it two months ago in a magazing interview as well.

I am just trying to think of an example when someone got the nomination in June but I can't recall any recent ones other than her husband in 1992

I don't know about Tim Russert but I suspect that GS will make it tame if he mentions it. ABC News usually has people that are good about defending her. Maybe they'll say it wasn't a good choice of words but she didn't mean no harm you know.
