Well those grainy flashbacks and Stephanie's behavior reaffirms my fear that she was raped. Ugh. And Ford is too OTT creepy awkward to live! What was his Halloween costume supposed to be anyway? Rapist in a vest? Thank goodness Max and Morgan continue to be totally freaking adorable. But if Hogan's way of putting Stephanie and Max back together is that the truth comes out about Stephanie's rape and Max feels sorry for her and helps her get through that I'm going to be sooooooooooo annoyed. Oh poor Cordy. :( Hogan had previously talked about a moratorium on killing babies (which he lied about with Willow's baby dying). When will this show put a moratorium on sexual assault stories? Because today is fine with me.

That said, I loved Chelsea's snark to Stephanie that maybe she should be wearing her devil costume when she was snarking on Morgan and though I don't always feel bad for Stephanie in her pining for Max I did today even though I prefer Max and Morgan together. Wasn't crazy about Chelsea's forehead makeup but was happy for the moment of Chick fun and their angel-devil cuteness. It's almost like between Steve and Kayla yesterday and Chick today this show is trying to mix in a little romance with the dark, dramatic stories? What a concept.

I couldn't help smiling when EJ was so impatient with Kate for the paternity results and so giddy when he got them and talking about the zoo and the park and all that whether the selective morality police elsewhere thinks I'm a heathen for not hating this show for "rewarding a rapist" or not. But damn EJ was delusional talking to Stefano about what a piece of cake it will be for him to win over Sami and thinking she will go along with all of his plans for their son. Kind of an interesting juxtaposition with Sami's delusions yesterday talking to Bo about how she isn't going to let Stefano anywhere near the kids and her delusions today that her marriage to EJ won't put a crimp in her and Lucas's love life whatsoever. Cleopatra and Marc Anthony ain't got nothing on this Queen and King of DeNial. I have a feeling they are both in for extremely rude awakenings when the smoke clears following the wedding.

As for the Santo Domingo stuff... what the hell was that crap about the black and white movie where the immigrant girl comes to America and marries some man she doesn't know and they fall in love but they can't get married in a church? Was that supposed to have any relevance to Lucas and Sami whatsoever? Because I didn't get the connection and it actually reminded me more of Santeen with the foreigner rushing into marriage and the priest stopping it from happening. So WTF? The whitewashing of the icky Franco history when the subject of Lucas committing murder came up also annoyed me with Sami not having any bitterness when she talked about Lucas having killed Franco but her being the one who went to death row and he let her stay there and then recanted his confession and kept quiet about the crime for years afterward because he wanted to retain custody of Will. I mean I buy that she's forgiven Lucas because she loves him, but to have no resentful feelings about that event whatsoever because of that love? Not buying it AT ALL. Even with all that whitewashing, I still can't root for this pair. Stick a fork in Lumi already and FINISH THEM, DOOL. They're DONE.

Randomly, I loved the fireplaces at the DiMansion as I hadn't noticed those before but damn I'd think EJ could get some better stationery than he had for the fax he sent Sami about the twins. Someone in the props department needs to work on their paper skills. I mean the church annulment papers looked like a takeout menu and now this. Work on it, Ed.

I loved the Max/Chelsea scenes. Those two could have sych a great friendship, i wish more soaps had friendships.

The Chick scenes were adorable. I dont know who i wanted more - Devil Chelsea or Nick as an Angel!

The rape storyline could be good... but its falling flat. But then again after watching Degrassi for 7 years all teen storylines on soaps fall flat.

Lumi wasactualy cute today, for once in a long time! I thought the movie note was cute, i dont think the overall plot was suposed to reflect Lumi, just the love they had.

EJ & Stefano had the best scenes.

It wasn't a great episode but not a bad one either.

I'm liking Morgan - and Morgan and Max the more I see her/them. Meaning I figure Days will ruin it by putting Max and Stephanie back together. The way Stephanie is acting (over him) is annoying and I'd like to see her move on with someone else. lucas maybe?? If she was raped - and I'm getting the feeling she was - I'd like to see Max there for her - but only as a friend and along with Chelsea, Nick, Morgan etc. It looks like this aspect of the storyline isn't going to drag on and that's a huge plus. The sorority group can be interesting without having a freaking rapist - Days just needs to steer away from that kind of storyline; although it does show the contrast between what Ford is doing vs Dec 29. I'm sure Cordie and others would have LOVED to have had a choice in the matter!!

IMiss - I hear you loud and clear on both EJ and Sami being in for a rude awakening once the smoke clears. They're not giving each other enough credit, which hits me as funny. They're so much alike and seem to realize it - yet they're just not seeing it right now or they'd both know better than to even entertain those expectations. I loved EJ's excitement over the baby and the way he spontaneously picked up Kate for a hug. Enjoyed the scenes with Stefano and EJ, too - but I'm curious about that DNA report Stefano was looking at after Andre died and how/when it will tie in.

As for the Sami and lucas scenes, at least they didn't go over the same things like they've been doing so that was refreshing; and for a split second I thought lucas was pulling out his escort service card out of his wallet

and if they had a choice, and they chose to sleep with him, it wouldnt have been rape... sami decided to sleep with ej. she chose to do it. she was a consenting adult. in no way was that rape....

i couldnt agree more about sami and ej being more alike than they both relize. and i dont know why they did this sicne in the beging they seemed to relize it. but whatever, hopefully days stops the ej distruction for lucas propping and tell a good story about a woman torn. cant wait for that wedding.

lol at the escort service card, that woulda been MAJOR lolz!!

i also hope that Days is only going there with steph/max from steph's side.

im watching an old days eppy and just saw a preview for Jennifer & Peter's "wedding to die for" lol.

Lumi was sad. Bryan and Ali rocked that. I am just glad we are getting somewhere.

I wish Kate would tell EJ to !@#$%^&*] off. Her running around for him is annoying. I did like his reaction to the baby being his. Scott played that well. The best scene was the one of Stefano up and walking while listening to his opera. Classic. Glad to hear the stem cells mentioned. Hope Stefano gets them so we can tie that up.

The sorority story is fun. I liked the end and I am enjoying seeing them all in a story that fits their age and isn't over the top.

    • That's a good point: if a show's state is not mentioned for many years, it's easier for the revolving door of never-ending newbies in charge to miss out on or get confused about previously-established facts.
    • IMO I get a brotherly/sisterly vibe from Kat/Jacob
    • Yes, the locale officially switched to Illinois in the early-1980s.  But I was watching daily during the entire Lemay era, and I'm fairly confident Bay City was never referenced as being in Michigan in any of Lemay's scripts. Agreed, Lemay did care about AW's past -- and used the past as subtext for many characters.  But it is unfortunate he chose never to mention (or perhaps was unaware of) the Michigan connection.  So by not mentioning it, this may be when that connection was lost for TPTB.

King of the Hill Voice Actor Johnathan Joss was gunned down and shot dead this past Sunday at 59 years old in Texas.  Here's the video of someone recording Joss' last moments before he was murdered.  This Monday past, the suspect turned himself to the police station and currently placed on house arrest until his Trial on August.
    • I was hoping the Articulettes  would be more like Klymaxx then the Supremes.  Talk about inspiration for a soapy type of stories  (one of the bandmates tried to use the name in order to perform, internal fighting over who was the lead, and the same bandmate that tried to use the name of the group tried to include their name as a song writer... and almost got an award for songwriting). I could see Sharon/Tracy/Anita fighting over all that... and Sharon trying to use the name Articulettes in order to perform and big bad bully Anita and Vernon block it from happening. Shanice is like Amy Vining... but BTG... Amy Vining had a life beyond the nurses station.
    • I don't believe Lemay was the one who negated the fact that the show was originally set in Michigan. Aside from a few curious character mutations, he did seem to care about the past. I think AW switched the local to Illinois in the 1980s or later. I don't think TPTB always knew or remembered the past well enough to give new headwriters full accurate information, anyway. Lemay wrote a story about Pat Randolph killing a predator named Greg Bernard who was targeting her daughter. The writer referred to a teenaged Pat killing her boyfriend (Tom Baxter) by stabbing him, as she later killed Greg. But in reality, Pat had shot Tom with a gun, so TPTB were lax in knowing or correctly relating established facts to the current scribe. Is the specific murder weapon of a long-gone character a vital component 15 years after the fact? Probably not to most viewers, but for those who had been watching way back when, little mistakes like this can be grating. I'm not devastated that AW changed Bay City's home state along the way, but I see this as another grating point that a little research could have prevented. Soap viewers have loooooong memories, LOL!
    • Ooopphh , I just watched my recording and thought, what's going on there.
    • Yes I was watching AW during that time, but I was very young.  So might have missed the references you mentioned. The late 1960s and early 1970s would have been during the Nixon and Cenedella head-writing eras.  Assuming you are correct, I'm quite surprised (and disappointed) Harding Lemay did not continue the Michigan references.  Especially since he was raised in a far northern region of a northern state, very very near the Canadian border. And I know he loved writing (either directly or indirectly) about his upbringing in that region. Perhaps no one in the studio ever told Lemay about the Michigan connection.  Who knows??  But I'm sure Lemay would have had a field-day playing all those Michigan references, which would have made his AW even more believable and relevant than it already was.  Such a missed opportunity!!
    • To me, there were some weaker writers on ATWT in the 1980s pre-Marland, but starting in 2000, the advent of the show's associated with Hogan Sheffer and Jean Passanante, the quality plummeted and remained in the toilet for the show's remaining years. It's amazing that so many actors were still able to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I just don't think KMS was one of them.
