How does one post an entire "screen" from You Tube?

Featured Replies

In the past, whenever I wanted to post something off of You Tube, all I could do was post a link (which, when clicked, would lead someone to a video on You Tube). However, I have always wanted to be able to place an entire You Tube video "screen" right within the confines of my actual post.

To better illustrate what I am talking about, take a look at the first post in the following thread:

As you can see, the entire screen is right there in the post.

Could someone please explain to me how one is able to do this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Sure Max,

You have to copy the "embed URL" and paste it into a thread here. At the bottom of your post under "Post Options" you'll see a drop-down box where you can post HTML. Choose the "Autobreak" HTML option, then post your video.

Thanks so much for you explanation, Ryan.

I apologize for asking another question, but I am having trouble copying the "embed URL." Is this the same thing as copying the hyperlink? (Because when I copied the hyperlink and pasted it here, and then went to "Post Options" to select the "Autobreak" HTML option from the drop down menu, all that was in my (now deleted) post was just a hyperlink.)

Unfortunately, my technical skills are very poor.

No, the embed URL is different.

For ex:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x7gvFBJpRg

Is the URL

This:

<object width="425" height="353"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-x7gvFBJpRg&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-x7gvFBJpRg&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="353"></embed></object>

Is the Embed URL

There's a box that says "Embed" when you're at Youtube. You can copy that. If you want to embed a video while responding to a post, you have to click on "more options" (if you have Fast Reply). so you can allow the HTML.

Ryan, now I get it!

">
" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">

What I posted above was a "practice" example.

Thanks so much for everything you have done.
