They have everything to be thankful for, more than anyone in the world right now. They lost so many material things and some had the misfortune to lose things of far more importance, but those who have their lives and their health? How can they not be thankful?'

Ah, this society and their material things. With the pain that comes with human tragedy, the important things are almost always truly realized.

True. But it is going to be very hard this year. No one down here feels like having Thanksgiving.

And it is not just material things. People have lost ENTIRE houses, cars, schools, jobs, sense of hope & faith, & pride in their life.

houses, cars, jobs, schools -> all material nonsence.

You have your family, and you're alive. that's all that matters.

If we don't go to my mom's, we go out to eat. This year, it's Mom's house. We fry our turkeys now and they taste sooooooo good!

I do have something to be thankful for this year---my new job! I thought I wasn't going to have any money to pay bills or buy Christmas presents this year, and now I do. Life is good.
