Great little promo. I just hate how it's been pimping the same story for weeks now. And also, would it kill them to film some live action clips of the actors the way ABC and CBS do? Those photoshopped images of Beemer and Madison at the end reek of cheapness. They wouldnt even need to shell out for studio time or anything, just film them on set together looking at the camera or something quick like that.

Well, this season, NBC has used still photos for their promos, even for primetime shows. With the exception of Medium. Crossing Jordan, and The Apprentice which are all from last season.

This is what's bothering me lately with DAYS... it seems like this is the only storyline on right now... everything and everyone is about Shelle and Claire...

While I loved the storyline at first and while I think this is okay now too, I hate that we practically get just this storyline and this storyline the only being advertised...

That's why I am so happy that Lumi/Kate story is moving next week a bit with the whole video switch thing..

R.I.P.: Anthony Geary has passed away

I'm curious to know a bit more about Tony Geary's working relationship with all the exec producers he was under.
Gloria Monty (both times); Wendy Riche; Jill Farren Phelps & Frank Valentini.
Given all the talk and evidence of how Tony Geary was not always easy to work with, I'm eager to know how he got on with various bosses. Head Writers might be harder given the volume of them that he was with.

I think the addition of Eleni in 1991 was the start of the character of Sam not being needed as much since Eleni seemed to be in the same age bracket as Sam/Harley while becoming the woman that Frank/AM end up fighting over... and that was after Eleni and Dylan briefly dated in mid 1991.
Also, moving Dylan into the Bridget/Julie/Hart/Kat grouping in mid to late 1991 also didn't help Sam's place on the show.
I also think the change-over in head-writers and EP in 1991 caused a shift in focusing on new characters/situations.. and once the St John story was wrapped up in early 1992.. there wasn't really any other story/coupling in place for Sam at that time and with her most likely 3 year contract coming up for renewal in early 1992... she was phased out.

Yep, Sam is the nerdy, introverted girl. She's living at the mansion, and seems fixated on "helping" with Alan Michael and Harley's wedding. I'm not sure if she's there to sort of "befriend" Harley who is still very rough around the edges, or if she was sent to live with Phillip rather than Ross for some reason, and afterwards went to live with Ross.
As Alan is trying to manipulate Alan-Michael at this point, he's probably smiling at anyone who supports AM/Harley getting married. But as Sam is so unfiltered in a Jane Austen-ish sort of way, she can't offend anyone.

IIRC Samantha didn't even get a proper exit story, just a mention of leaving town to attend law school.
Dylan got placed in the expanded young adult set with Hart, Bridget, Kat, Julie, David.
Perhaps Bridget, Kat, Julie made Samantha not necessary.

I'm gonna say this and I don't care who's offended: just because the characters are black doesn't mean they should always be put into typical hero vs villain dynamics. Matter of fact the daytime soap operas have fallen behind because they still try to adhere to hero vs villain or anti hero vs villain stuff regardless of race. Stop being obsessed with characters being "likeable" or "easy to root for".

It wasn't entirely out of nowhere with Anthony, as he was somewhat shady in his run as a regular character, but the execution was terrible and there really wasn't a need to kill him. I've been OK with Wadey's run so far but there are some big exceptions - the Zoe return story and just how bad the pacing is.

I dislike characters 'fading away'. If Derek is a goner, and I'm not sure he is, a couple of farewell scenes should be written where he decides to leave town for a better job, or be closer to sick parent etc.
It seldom makes sense when character just disappear.
