I can see why Victor is trying to do all this; in some ways, he's trying to correct a lot of wrongs that have happened because of the revelation of Claire being Shawn's child.

Unfortunately the law is the law and it's not based upon what a person wants but what the law desides is the best of all possible conclusions.

Read this very difficult to read, very, very long discussion from the State of Florida. States are very generally the same with some variances.

I hope no one wastes their time with that since if this were RL, this case would never see the light of day in a court room. After a proper CPS investigation, Claire would remain with Belle and Philip and Victor would be brought up on kidnapping charges. The law would decide the best of all possible conclusions and none of them would include Philip having custody.
