I have had the luxury of watching live this whole week, and I'm excited about today's episode. I hope the Todd/Marty/Spencer stuff is exciting, and I'd like to see some Viki and Clint. Sadly, I think Vincent Jones will be a big part of today's episode, which means maybe I should paint my nails or something (LOL, j/k).

I got called out halfway through today's eppy, so just finished watching now. I logged on, thinking there would be lots of discussion, but was I ever wrong! LOL: could any show be LESS talked about on SON these days than OLTL? :o

I like most of the episode, and I am enjoying the hostage situation. There was a bit too much movement and quick camera angles for me, but OL's directors always do a good job overall with action sequences. Nice to see the actor playing Cole (name?) come alive for a moment when he saw his Mom in peril, and I did think KA was quite charming in their scenes together.

Dorian was a highlight for me ... I love her unadulterated rage, even when it's not justified!

In all honesty, this was some of the better acting I've seen from MA in some time, and it had to do with the fact that Natalie is sick of John's crap.

Next week's Nash/Jessica scenes look good.

Dang Shane...you're turning into a post whore!

j/k

The name of the boy who plays Cole is Brandon Buddy.

I too like the hostage situation; especially there with the shot at the very end. I like wacko Spencer.

I know how you feel Shane, OLTL seems to be one of the least talked about soaps at SON these days. And that's sad, considering how much better the show has gotten recently.

BTW, I love your banner. :)

I loved most all of the show today, didn't really watch the Vincent/Cris and Vangie stuff, since I find that storyline SO boring, but all the other stuff was rather exciting. Very dramatic.

Loved the mention of Addie, and I so cannot wait to see her again, she's been missed. The scenes between Viki, Clint and Dorian were good, and I am loving me some wacko Spencer, but I sure wish he would have just put me out of my misery and shot Marty instead of himself. I really do.

Starr and Cole were very sweet, I tend to not like this storyline but they were actually very sweet today, and I loved Viki's expression when Starr was comforting Cole.

I think Natalie would be better off to just let John do what he wants, and when he gets sick again, say IFTYS. LOL.

Can't wait to see the show next week, its gotten so good.

I do agree....I am finding myself actually looking forward to the show each day more and more. The Viki/Clint/Dorian stuff is great...it's always good seeing those three on the screen.

And just look at the mentions of characters lately that we haven't seen in quite awhile....Addie, Cassie, Will, Jen..... . It's great to see at least small parts of OLTL's history remembered.

The show still has a ways to go, but it is awhole helluva lot better than it was only a few months ago. I just hope they can keep moving in the right direction.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
