  1. Steve ;) Thanks bro. Same back at 'cha.

Well, Roman. You're still the bomb in my book. :D:D You can talk to me anyday buddy. And speaking of the bomb, Wales just went MIA after the election, huh? Talk about someone that added a lot of value to our discussions. Man, I miss him/her. If you're out there, Wales, please jump in anyday now. We miss ya!

Just a random thought about posting on SON in general. Why is it that you can type "fucked" and it's not bleeped out? But if you type "fu.ck-ing" it is?!?! Jo no say.:rolleyes:

I don't know. This is the only thread I look at or post in over here. Do this. Ask Scotty, Toups or Errol and maybe in 6 months you may get a reply as to why that is.

  2. Revisionist history? Puh-lease... I never said how WONDERFUL (in all caps, mind you) the last 8 years were. The key to the last 8 years is that Bush kept us safe from another attack. Will Obama? I have my doubts. I had big issues with Mr. Bush and some of his policies and I have stated it time and time again (a lot more objective than you and your 3 incher for Obama) -- or did you not read those posts? Probably not... because I posted it in English rather than Roman's language of Lame.

I don't respond to your links, Roman, because you don't respond (at least in any intelligent way) to stuff I post. I would love to engage you in intelligent debate and pleasant conversation, but you are too busy spankin' it to Obama pictures that you don't have time for anything else.

Dude, wash your hands when you're done. And why are you so angry, anyways? Did you get your ass beat a lot in school or something? If so, I'm sorry about that... must be painful to live with that, then have your ass verbally beat regularly in the forum here.

    <<hugs and kisses>>

You know Brian, I was going to type some really silly response from this. But, you just showed what type of person you are. And, from now on, don't wonder why I think you are just a sorry individual.

Oh goodness folks why can't we discuss without the attacks on each other. That is what I hate about this thread and have to take breaks from it.

When we all discuss the issues it's fun and we accomplish stuff.

All this [!@#$%^&*] back and forth calling each other names and judging one another gets us no where.

And GD it is easy to fall into. I am quick to respond to some of the other remarks too. That is the reason I have someone on ignore. I don't get mad and my life doesn't go into freefall. And I can enjoy SON and this thread.

Because people like GregGL and so many others have constructive stuff to say and add so much to the conversation and I do not want to miss that.

Oh and the thought of all those boners is making me horny too.

This has nothing to do with you. This is between me and Brian, ok?

  3. Ouch. <<Looks to Roman>> Is Brian a bit grumpy this morning or what?!?!

<<hugs my buddy Brian back but pulls him closer when he notices his boner>>:lol::wub:

This is getting way outta hand with all this boner talk! I can't concentrate on anything else now....

Obama hasn't done anything for the GLBTs lately. Nada. But he's been in office for 5 months and there are more pressing issues at hand than GLBT ones, IMHO. I have faith that he will address them eventually. But when there are things as fucked up as the economy and healthcare that affect a much greater portion of the population, it makes sense to tackle those first.

Campaign promises? Let's see. Repeal of DADT, adding sexual orientation to the federal hate crimes bill....and uhhhh....I think that's about it.

I will message you, I promise! I want to hear more about this boner of yours! No, seriously...I will get around to it. You do know, my good buddy, that YOU could always email ME first and I'd respond. You get that, don't cha?

And the way he responded is why I can't get on a page wit him. Maybe he'll wake up and we can finally start a dialouge where WE BOTH ARE LISTENING to each other, instead of this BS.

  4. Lotta boners in this thread.

hat was just a very stupid way to ask a question, Greg. Brian wants to always bitch about no one giving him respectful debate, yet he ask me a question in a stupid ass manner and then bitches about why I won't answer it. This is after him spending all of his time telling me and you and others that the last 8 years were just WONDERFUL and that WE are the ones who got it all wrong. How is that when the Republican Party, the party he wants to always apologize for, now sits with a 23% approval rating? I posted material that had proof that some Republicans in Congress were beyond the pale. I still have yet to hear any response from Brian on that. Probably because he agrees with that crap. And Reagan being a friend to Gay Americans? WHEN? When he didn't even want to acknowledge that people were dying from AIDS because they happen to be Gay?!

This revisionist history from Brian really makes him look bad.........and makes me laugh my ass off.

  5. Your boner for trashing an administration out of office notwithstanding, what is your actual opinion on the issue, Roman?

Once again, you have it wrong. My BONER started the night of November 4th, 2008, and it'll stay hard for the next 4 years.

Also, see how the clown who engineered that stupid fly over got canned? Hmm. Seems in the previous admin., that very same person would have been told "You doing a heckava job!"

Now, Brian, the next time you ask me a question, and want my honest opinion, try leaving out the BS smart ass crap, and then I'll answer it (that is, if you actually interested in hearing an opinion that disagrees with yours).

  6. This is one of Obama's more scary policy moves...

President Obama's efforts to curb the spread of nuclear weapons threaten to expose and derail a 40-year-old secret U.S. agreement to shield Israel's nuclear weapons from international scrutiny, former and current U.S. and Israeli officials and nuclear specialists say.

The issue will likely come to a head when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with Mr. Obama on May 18 in Washington. Mr. Netanyahu is expected to seek assurances from Mr. Obama that he will uphold the U.S. commitment and will not trade Israeli nuclear concessions for Iranian ones.

Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller, speaking Tuesday at a U.N. meeting on the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), said Israel should join the treaty, which would require Israel to declare and relinquish its nuclear arsenal.

"Universal adherence to the NPT itself, including by India, Israel, Pakistan and North Korea, ... remains a fundamental objective of the United States," Ms. Gottemoeller told the meeting, according to Reuters.

So, let's see... Mr. Obama will demand Israel stand down and give up their nukes... Mr. Obama expects ISRAEL to follow the rules. However, Iran has yet to follow rules. My question is, wouldn't this leave Israel vulnerable to hostile states surrounding them? It reminds me of the old "Who wants to volunteer?" act... and everyone steps backward, leaving an unwitting and unwilling party standing out from the rest.

This can't happen. If Obama were to push this issue with Netanyahu, I'm sure he would be told to "[!@#$%^&*] off" in the nicest possible terms. But that Obama would even ask... Ummm... whose SIDE IS HE ON???

    http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/may/0...se-nukes/print/ for the straight dope.

    http://hotair.com/archives/2009/05/06/obam...-give-up-nukes/ for right-leaning commentary.

Same question that was asked of GWB and "DICK" Cheney for 8 years. Horrible we never got an answer.

Oh, sorry. Yes we did. Bush was an idiot who didn't KNOW whose side he was on, and Cheney was too busy torturing people.

    Sorry.

  7. I would love for the Republican Party to finally become conservative and move more to the center. But for God's sake, don't listen to Rush Limbaugh.

That's like Malcolm X. getting advice on how to get Black Americans to vote from the KKK.

  8. Well, I meant in relation to this thread. Obviously, I can't work on mending the relationships betweeen Dems/Repubs on my own. My intent was between us in this thread and the whole "Republicans did this, so the Democrat's are gonna do this" and vice versa. It's apparent, at least to me, that your sympathies lie with Republicans or why else would you be playing devil's advocate the way you have over the last few months. And honestly, it's surprising to me the line you are towing is primarily on the right. You do realize, that you are defending a party that would rather throw you to the wolves (based on your orientation) than sit down at a table and welcome you with open arms, right? The party you are defending were willing to classify you as a second class citizen in the constitution all for the sake of (hopefully) winning an election? And when was the last time the big, bad Democrats did the same to you and I, my friend? Hmmm......the answer is never.

That's just my point, Steve. THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT DIDN'T VOTE FOR OBAMA BECAUSE OF THE COLOR OF HIS SKIN. This ad on MTV didn't cause those people to suddenly realize that. They already felt that way. They didn't need an ad to justify their bigotry.

If a white man chooses not to vote for a black man because of the pigmentation of his skin, fine. So be it. But if that is the primary reason WHY he cast his vote for the opposition, then NEWS FLASH....he's racist. Plain and simple. :o I don't understand how that's difficult to comprehend. The ad you mentioned will not turn a white man to vote against a black candidate and I would like to know why you think otherwise.

Furthermore, I simply can not accept, nor would (I imagine) the majority of Americans, a white person that announces to everyone that it's ok he's prejudice against a black man because of a television commercial. It simply doesn't wash. I will defer to my earlier post but given the history of race relations in this country, it's simply not acceptable. If this were a country without the racial discriminatory history that we have then it may be different.....but it's not. Therefore, the argument falls flat to me. If you can explain it on perhaps simpler terms for someone like me, that would be great because I'd love to hear it.

For a country that professes that all men are created equal, it's history says otherwise. Even it's current history betrays the constitution in relation to gays and lesbians. If anyone feels differently, please speak up. We will have something to debate in this muthafuckin thread.

Did you see that link I posted about that Congresswoman who said those vile things about Matt Sheppard?

  9. Apparently you care, Brian, because you post these things and then don't want to take any responsibility for them or you demand that others who disagree with you are wrong

And Steve, for someone who is as negative about every single thing as you are, this is amazing. No one is doing the right thing as far as you are concerned. Nothing is working out right.

That is whatever. Brian, I would have tried to talk to you, but you haven't tried to come out with anything truthful to prove Obama is destroying the country (which is how you felt 6 weeks after he was sworn in) so now you want to sit back and cry that you are ALWAYS the one to reach out and listen? Man you are so full of it.

  10. What kills me is this. Shortly after 9/11, Bush's approval numbers were in the 90s. Now, were only Conservatives and Republicans the ones being polled? No. The ENTIRE DAM COUNTRY got behind him and supported, regardless of walk of life.

But now the same ones who felt that "No matter who it we need to stand behind our president" when Bush was in office, come here and keeps up these childish, petty rants about Obama. They won't get behind for nothing.

Amazing. I really hope they remember that when a Republican is back in office. And to tell you the truth, I'm tired of it. If you can't stand Obama for whatever reason (including the color of his skin) whatever. The rest of us will move on and live in the 21st Century while you stay stuck in the dark ages.

  11. When the Obama administration crashes and burns, with approval ratings that fall through the floor, political scientists can trace its demise to its first hundred days. While Americans are careful not to consign a presidency they desperately need to succeed to the dustbin of history, the fact is that this president has moved - on issue after issue - in precisely the opposite direction of what the people want him to do.

    Stay tuned, Roman...

I needed a great laugh. Thanks, Brian!

This is like a child waiting in the sandpit for the person he hates to break his leg so he can laugh and say "I told you so!"

  12. I am sure many of you already know, I did not vote for Obama. I do not agree with probably 70% of his policies or what he has done so far, but I watched the press conference?

Was his side-kick, the teleprompter there?

    Anyway.

He is going to overexpose himself, because these press conferences are too numerous already. But they are what they are.

I love the softball questions lol. I think the reporters know, don't you dare ask tough, hard hitting questions lol

But he has not really done anything yet other than kill my childrens future and load them with debt.

I agreed on the stem cell issue. But that is about it right now. Hopefully soon he will do something that I find suitable, but he is my President, so I do care what he says or does.

The Repubs did make many mistakes, but they are also taking heat for doing things that are/were necessary that people just felt the need to attack them for.

The Left had a GREAT communication device in calling Repubs liars, murder's etc and portraying Obama as the second coming. it worked, good for them.

But they better turn this country around NOW and do it AS promised or else they should be voted out.

Even if the transparacy line is a huge joke and he treats the WH like a dorm room!

I nom this for funniest post of the day!

And for 8 years Bush NEVEDR reached out to Democrats. He had this cowboy mentality where it was n"do it my way or else" and many in this thread felt that was perfectlt fine, like the person in the quoted post. Now, Obama HAS reached, been rebuffed at ever turn, and not only are Republicans too stupid to work with him.....he gets absolutely NO CREDIT for reaching out.

The hypocricy is enough to choke on.

  13. It was pretty awesome. Republican strategist have been warning the party that they need to stop going so far right and so far to the religious aspect because the majority of Americans don't want that shoved down their throats.

IA with you. The party did this to themselves. Maybe they will finally kick people like Limbaugh and Co. out and shove themselves to the center. And it wont be good for the Democrats to have this type of majority, but what it downright stupid is Obama continuing to go hat and hand to a broken party who has absolutely no foresight to work with him. All they want to do is is say no to everything he proposes, and then not have any ideas themselves or just downright lie on the issues, like that crap Bachmann said yesterday (she is key to why the Republican Party is in the toilet).

  14. Spector has always been one of the more moderate Republican voices and this makes complete sense now that his party has become the bastion of the religous right. The modern day Republican can't see past gay marriage, abortion and legislating morality. It's a shame because some of their fiscal platforms make a lot of sense to me.

And I'm actually surprised this didn't happen sooner.

After reading the article, I'm glad he stated that he wouldn't be an "automatic" 60th vote. Now that it appears the Dems picked up the Senate seat in Minnesota, the filibuster proof majority appears to be nigh. Not something that I believe is good for the country. Honestly. Yes, I'm a liberal SOB and proud of it. But what this country needs is a consensus between the two major parties on how to fix things. I don't believe that it will be saved on all Republican ideas nor do I believe it will be saved on strictly Democratic proposals. A mixture of both would help to ensure that if a liberal idea falters, perhaps a conservative one is needed.

President Obama should continue reaching out to Republicans on fixing America. It's the only way it's going to succeed. And for all of the grandstanding "WE LOVE AMERICA!" crap the Republicans spouted during the election, NOW is the time to act like you truly love the country and work to make it better. That's the way to show that you love this country and want it to continue.

IA with you 110%. No party should have a majority.

  15. I’m surprised you didn’t state that he would ice skating with pirates in there.

Then again, he did order them to be killed when they were holding one of our own prisoner.

I don’t think talking with our “enemies” is all that bad. Those pictures of him and Chavez didn’t do any justice, because we weren’t there. We do not know what was exactly was exchanged between Chavez and President Obama verbally. Obama could have very well scolded Mr. Chavez behind the scenes, while putting up a front for the press. We just don’t know.

No, Michael. You see, Obama is supposed to do the same garbage Bush and Co. did for the last 8 years. No wonder other nations hate out guts. I mean, a popular U.S. President? Who actually TALKS to other leaders instead of acting like Marshall Dillon? No, we shouldn't do that.

IA with you. Talk to your damn enemies to find out where you stand, and then go from there.

  16. Talk about misleading headlines, that headline of the article posted above - something about Fox network being too critical of Obama. Boy is that one misleading.

    Quote from the article:

The latest weekly News Interest Index survey, conducted April 17-20 by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, finds a substantial partisan divide in views of how TV news networks cover Obama. More than four-in-ten Democrats (44%) say Fox has been too critical of Obama, compared with 25% of independents and just 18% of Republicans. No other network comes close to Fox, though 11% overall – including 18% of Democrats – say CNN has been too critical of the president. Very few Americans cite the broadcast networks – ABC (4%), NBC (4%) or CBS (3%) – as too critical.

I might put some confidence in the article if an overwhelming majority of Independents had said they were or even if a biased group of researchers or focus group did. But with them asking members of each party and separating it by Party Lines - of course they are going to come up with the headline they did. I have never met a Democrat who did not think that Fox News wasn't too hard on any Democrat much less Obama.

So wow they broke some real news there. None of those results surprise me at all.

    Now that's funny.

  17. Folks can't stand the fact many feel Obama is doing a good job. They just can't stand it.

maybe they should keep listening to Dick Cheney.........o wait. He's trying to pull his ass from his mouth from all these lies he just got caught in.
