The media has been discrediting themselves for years and I think since 2016 so many people are onto them. And there are many who don't pay attention to them anyway. And yeah I don't trust them with polls. And they are still covering Trump 24 by 7. We know all about them that we need to know. They are not on the side of Americans.

Fortunately the majority of the people now know how polling has failed us and are not paying attention which is why they are voting in record numbers. I don't know anyone who is not working whether it's phonebanking, dropping off lit, text banking, etc as if the democrats are not 10 points behind.

I am suspect about states being called battleground states like Colorado. Really? Even calling Maine battleground at this point seems dumb

I am just curious. How exactly does any of this help these senators. This isn't 2016 and we are in the midst of a pandemic and people are hurting. I mean I get why McConnell has been pushing it aside - GOP donors don't want it unless it has that liability clause. So I get why McConnell has been unwilling to bring anything up for a vote because he thinks the donations for vulnerable senate races will dry up but they are already in the red in terms of campaign funding and frankly I don't see at the end of the day how not voting on or passing a relief package helps any of them at the voting booth.

I don't give much credence to those snap polls or the stupid focus group on CNN( an "undecided voter" thinks Trump has done a great job on COVID?) but I feel like the discussion shifted when the results were shown. Maybe I am just paranoid about the media. And by the way these CNN focus groups are BS. I recall a few years ago they had a group of unbiased voters around the 2018 election and I think it was from Texas not sure. Every member sided with the GOP candidate. Then CNN was exposed for rigging the focus group. Each member were GOP operatives from Texas.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
A friend of mine was diagnosed with COVID about a month ago. She's still recuperating and still on various meds including the Steroid Trump is on. I asked her if I could share some of her recent message to me. This is not the entire message. She's been communicating with people via email. She is up at night and she messages folks when she cannot rest. " Hey Kit, Sitting down for a break with the pupper. I have to remind myself, sometimes aloud, that I need to slow down. This has been what has been a new normal day for me. But you asked me about the steroid. Yes it is the same one President Moron is on. The first few days I was on dexamethasone, I had more energy than I knew what to do with. I cleaned the kitchen, cleared out cupboards, cooked food. I was highly productive and felt almost normal. I was euphoric! You remember I talked about this with you last week. It was glorious. It's a thing, apparently. And now you are seeing it play out via Twitter and the press sprays. But, I see a breathless old man who has no business removing a mask or entering a workplace where he will undoubtedly place countless families and staffers at risk with his hubris and lack of regard for norms like isolation. After 24 days on this steroid, I am still lucky if I can get 4 hours of restful sleep a night and 12 hours a day without a complete meltdown. Heaven help you if your lungs are so inflamed and/or your oxygen saturation levels are so low that you require this medication. I have never felt more insane and run down by a drug, regardless of how much it may be helping to restore my lungs, and yes it is supposed to. I won't bore you with specifics unless you're interested. This isn't an aspirin you pop and call the doctor in the morning and, frankly, I resent seeing it framed by so many as such with the rosy pictures being painted by this fool and so many being sucked into it. Trust me when I tell you they continue to deceive the public. This drug is for people who are in the high risk category like me with my asthma and is not for people with just the sniffles. And if a doctor just gave him this because they are throwing every drug at him, it's a disgrace, it's DANGEROUS, and the euphoria does not maintain. They are treating the public like we are stupid. Tell anyone you know this is not a game and can impact many the same way its impacting me and MUCH worse."

I live in Illinois and there are zero problems here in general. I was going to do vote by mail and I got my ballot and we have drop off boxes for mail in ballots at all the early voting sites.I changed my mind and I will early vote. We started in the state 2 weeks ago but Cook County doesn't start until today. And early voting is not more widespread here until October 19th where early voting will be available across most communities in the county. I actually thought about early voting today but hey I can wait. It takes time for the judges a little extra time to cancel out the Vote by Mail ballot so I can vote realtime and I'd rather the people waiting now should have first dibs.

Same here. I never think he looks or sounds good or healthy. I think this was made on Friday before he left. . He was wearing an oxygen hose underneath that mask and on the left by his ear it still looks like the hose is there. He looks white as a ghost but then he doesn't have that dreadful orange makeup on.

I've been spreading my donations across senate contests and 2 congressional races here in Illinois(Lauren Underwood). Mark Kelly is going to win as is Hickenlooper. Harrison has done a great job raising money. He has something like 35 -40 million now. I wish people would stop donating to McGrath in KY and send that money to Mike Espy in Ms who lost last time by 5 points or to Warnock in Ga.

The media is giving this monster fawning coverage talking about "What can with do with no leader in charge" as if we have had one the past 4 years. Hatred is so harsh a word for them but I am getting close. I am talking about the media.

I understand the cynicism and I thought that. But I think he has it. I believe Hicks came back because of Trumps continued deterioration and she is probably one of the few who can handle him. I believe he has it. I don't wish it on anyone and I have been worried for my mom off and on in her retirement community but they have done a fantastic job protecting their residents and despite a couple of staff members(non resident contacting employees) getting it, not one resident has had it even as they have allowed limited visitation again. Activities and dining still has restrictions. They check people going in and out of the building like hawks. He has it. I wish I didn't feel it was karma because it can be terrible as we have seen for older people.

I think it's smart to be skeptical we all should be. And I won't debate that the media has been throwing GOP narratives out there. Heck they are trying to say the democrats are anti catholic(another narrative pushed by the GOP) because of ACB and how they are going to bring it up and kill the hearings. Not one democrat has talked about that. And I have been surprised at how disciplined their narrative has been. Lets not forget Biden and Pelosi are both Catholic. Joe Biden was not my choice by a long shot but he's a decent man and he did select Harris who by the way. the entire media wrote off and many claimed she would be a drag, and then he named her and his fundraising went over the roof. So yeah they have tried hits on Biden and Harris and no one is listening. Hillary had and still has 30 years of GOP attacks on her. The media thinks she's the devil and did their best to make the email issue the biggest scandal of the century. But that was backed up by years of attacks. It's not close to the same and we have an incumbent who botched the biggest health crisis of the past 50 years. I will say again discipline and messaging has helped Biden and as long as the focus continues, I am optimistically cautious this go around. Seeing the increase in turnout has helped. I want to remind folks who wrote off the 2018 midterms and how the dems this and that and that election was a landslide which I am supposed to see as a win for the GOP because they picked up 2 senate seats when it should have been 5 or 6. Yeah ok I'll forget about the governorships they took and state legislatures they continue to be primed to make a huge impact in again. I know the media loves to say it's a fluke. Another reason I don't listen to them much and just pay attention to the work going on.

People are giving the media too much power at this point. I say that because none of the GOP narratives the media has been pushing have stuck. Law and Order, "Race Riots", Biden has dementia, And I don't see how this is a push for Trump when the media has been the one helping set the bar at the bottom for Biden by spreading that nonsense. I don' think this story in the Times changes minds but it does show what a fraud of a business person Trump is. I don't care if it moves those diehard lunatics. The single most important issue is COVID and related to that healthcare. Nothing has changed that because we are all still living with it.

Travesty. But no one expected different. Nothing for the police department who initially arrested Breonna's boyfriend Nothing for the police department who interviewed Breonna's former boyfriend and attempted to get him to implicate her in some of his alleged crimes. Basically the life of the people in the other apartments who were not hurt is more important than hers. And this AG can stuff it. Any DA basically has a lot of latitude in charging who and how they want to charge.
