Since you brought up oil... here's what I would do. The republicans keep saying that we have more oil than the Saudi's, that all we need to do is get to it. So I would say let them drill to their heart's content, build their effing pipeline, on the provisor that end gas prices would NEVER rise above 2.50$ per gallon, EVER. They say that's the solution to make it cheaper, so I'd make them put their money where their mouth is. Hell... 50K a year? I'd be rich. That would be a dream come true.

For Pete's sake, Max.... accountant? Screw getting a job as a corporate accountant, just be a personal accountant for small businesses. There are quite a few of those around here, small businesses are always needing accounting services, and you could provide services for less than a larger company could. And you could set your own hours and have a degree of freedom. Don't depend on someone else to hire you, just drum up your own business, You could easily set up a DBA, and work as your own company.

Oh, don't get me started on the downfall of quality radio. News radio is dead in most markets, it's all been replaced by corporate dictated "Infotainment". Most of that crap isn't even worthy of coming through the speakers of my 1979 soundesign flip clock radio.

I think it depends on your individual circumstances. I admit, I've never been unemployed a day in my life, so I can't truly understand what your'e going through, but I also think that corporations WILL start hiring no matter who wins. Theyv'e been waiting and waiting, and raking in profits from downsizing, but I don't think they are going to hang around in limbo for four MORE years, hoping to get tax breaks form Republicans. Everyone is bandying about the "Are you better off than four years ago", I can say I am WAY better off than four years ago, I had my second best year ever this year. Everyone SHOULD be afraid of healthcare, cause no matter which way you slice it, insurance companies are going to rake in billions on your pain and suffering, and they've bought off every politician in washington to do it. No politician has the balls to do what REALLY needs to be done, and get insurance companies completely OUT of health care altogether. Max, what field of work are you trying to get a job in, if you don't mind my asking?

We are told that you are a socialist state, and every person is made to live like paupers.... and if we were to become anything like you, we'd all start bleeding from the eyes and drop dead or something. They say there are NO rich people in Sweden, There are even no middle class... they say Sweden is a country full of peasants, with a few rich elite running the government. They also say that Swedish parents take 10 year old children into hard core sex shops all the time. I've heard ALL of that from talk radio pundits.

He can't win, Carl. The way Missouri is... if Kansas City and St. Louis are truly motivated, then it cancels out nearly the rest of the state, and those people are far more likely to vote for Claire. Claire DOES have to overcome all the staggering losses she will have through the Ozarks, and in Springfield and Cape Girardeau. But this scandal has mobilized the women voters, and I'm sure she will win. The rural Ozark counties are SCARY conservative, when they gay marriage ban was up for a vote, those counties voted for it in percentages of well over 90%! I'm in a border county, between Kansas city and the "deep" part of the Ozarks, and here it was around 60 percent. In Kansas City and St. Louis, the ban went down in defeat, 45-55.

Like I said... I can say they should have the baby, and they can do whatever the hell they want anyway. What's wrong with that? Women have the legal right to have an abortion, not to have an abortion with everyone's blessing. And the hypocrisy of social conservatives is and always will be a HUGE problem for me. I'm liberal 90 percent of the time, you all know this from reading my posts. I'm just not in lock step with every single thing. And YES... babies of any kind are in HIGH demand for adoption, there are waiting lists!!! It's older children that don't get adopted. I still would like to see how the catholic church would react if there was a constitutional amendment that would ban abortions except in rape, incest and life of the mother...and at the same time, require all catholic hospital to provide pre natal, delivery, and post natal care free of charge to any woman who requests it. I wonder if they'd put their money where their mouth is.

It's nothing like the AIDS funding thing, because a woman carrying a baby does not end with her in a casket. And if it does, like I've said before.. all bets are off. And this knife cuts both ways.... because of medical advancements, we could in the future be able to determine if a fetus will be gay or not through blood testing, meaning unfettered abortions could also be used by fundies to kill gay babies before they are born, because they don't want them to bring shame upon their family. Something tells me you'd be against that.

Oh, heavens no.... I'm not talking those kinds of consequences. I'm saying if your'e stupid enough to have sex that could result in pregnancy when you don't want it, or aren't ready.... then have the baby, and give it up for adoption, or better yet, have OTHER kinds of sex that won't result in pregnancy... just relegate yourself to oral or the back door unless your'e using BOTH the pill AND condoms. The thing that doesn't work about your statement is the idea of "Potential" poverty and misery. Well... you know, poverty does NOT equal misery. My mother grew up with little or no money, but she wasn't miserable... no electricity, no running water, using an outhouse. But she will tell you she wasn't miserable. Give that baby to a gay couple and make their dreams come true. And I don't know about you, but most people would choose poor over dead. I'm all for teaching teens about masturbation, alternative methods of sexual contact that has no chance of pregnancy, etc.

And as you know, I'm pretty liberal for the most part. But I would be considered conservative on a couple of issues. The biggest problem I have with abortion is that it's far easier for a woman to have an abortion than it is for a gay couple to adopt that baby, In cases where rape ISN'T the issue, it's about personal responsiblity, pure and simple, and if your'e reckless.. I don't feel it's right to take the easy way out.... but again, I'm not going to legally FORCE you have it, that's on your conscience. And for the record, my mother has the exact same opinion on this as I do. From my opnion on this to my thoughts on health care, I am all about trying to preserve life as much as possible, that's where me and many conservatives part ways, many of them are so gung ho to make abortion illegal, to preserve life..... but are SO against the idea of paying taxes so ill people who are poor can have life saving treatments. And all of THAT would be much less of a burden if we didn't have insurance companies legally bribing politicians so they can get rich off of people's sickness and misery, when insurance companies shouldn't be invovled in health care AT ALL.

Well... if a woman doesn't take the morning after pill, then WTF? Now, if the injuries are such that she's unconcious or something or isn't physically able to get the morning after pill... then I totally don't think bad of her having an abortion at that point. But especially an abortion for convenience? I think that's ridiculous. With being able to have children comes responsibility, and if you don't want to have a child, you can always have sex in any of the other orifices. Now, if the mother's life is any way in danger... then all bets are off. I never have ANY judgement for abortion in that case. And yes, maybe I have the nerve to insult women who have an abortion for convenience, but then they just need to have the nerve to not give a damn about what I think, cause after all, I would still never make it illegal, that's the most important thing.

Ann... did you read my post? I said it was just my personal feeling, that I would never legislate it. A woman has a right to choose, she doesn't have a right to choose and everyone pat her on the head and say "You did the right thing".

Boy... Akin just stepped in every pile of poop he can find. This guy is such an ass. From a personal standpoint, if I were a woman who was raped, and got pregnant... I would never have an abortion (I would have done morning after pill), because I personally don't believe in it, and I can compartmentalize, in my mind, a new life being brought into the world would be the ONLY good thing that could come from that bad situation. So I wouldn't get rid of it, when it's the only good thing. It's not the baby's fault after all, the circumstances regarding conception. But I know lots of women just want to get rid of it, because they feel it would be some kind of permanent reminder or something. Some women just don't have the strength and fortitude to look at it logically instead of emotionally and not kill the baby because someone ELSE was a vicious monster. So therefore... I would never legislate something like that.... prohibiting the abortion or anything.

They can reccommend people wear repellants at all times, hell, LISTERINE works. Going under the assumption that it isn't going to be harmful... yeah.. I bet they said that to the guys in Vietnam right before they sprayed the agent orange. There are also other ways to reduce the populations, like making sure all stagnant water is dried out or made to where the mosquitos will suffocate, all that takes if a few drops of mineral oil.

Talk show hosts laughed an guffawed ENDLESSLY about "Obama giving the queen a DVD she couldn't play", when these MORONS all have no clue that the VAST majority of DVD players, all except the cheapest of the cheap sold in the UK and Europe WILL IN FACT play an american DVD. The reverse is not true... but in the UK and Europe, your'e good to go 95 percent of the time with an American DVD.
