Your'e so right, telling people they shouldn't break the law is the lowest of the low.

I think it might be people who didn't have good parents that would look up to someone such as him to that extent. Many people admire him, like I do... but to feel your childhood destroyed? It's just a TV show, after all.

He's done alot of great work in his life. Even if it WAS true, it still doesn't erase the good things, although I know some people are praying for it to be true, because they can feel morally superior while continuing to sell crack. I'll always cherish my memories of Fat Albert, no matter what. People are still flocking to see the Motown musical, even though it was revealed years ago that Berry Gordy was pimp and was sued by almost half of his acts.

yes, that is one thing you can't help, when you get complete disintegration. But definitely back it up sooner than later, as it will only get worse with time. One thing you need to do, is keep your finger poised on the stop button, and when something starts to go bad wrong, stop it immediately. Luckily, with Y&R, at least wer'e not talking about something REALLY precious, meaning footage that no longer exists in a broadcast archive... as Y&R's entire run is intact. I did the original DVD transfer of "Welcome to my home" that went onto youtube, and luckily, that tape was only from 1987, and was still in pretty good shape.

Tonight, some GREAT scenes of Lorie and Leslie during the custody battle for Brooks. The emotional tug of war in these scenes, all the while trying to keep Brooks from noticing what's going on is just heartbreaking. Especially the end of the scene. JLB and Victoria Mallory really hit it out of the park here!

Wow... great to hear you have some additional 70's footage. I think your tape should play, you should really transfer it to DVD, I'm an expert in the video transfer department, if you need any advice or help, let me know. ALWAYS remember, if a VCR "Eats" and important tape, never throw it away! Tapes can be taken apart, and spools changed to a different cartridge, broken tape can be spliced... there is almost always a way to preserve things. Keep in mind, they recently found episode of Dr. Who in Nigeria on 40 year old tapes, so most things can be recovered, even if they are in bad shape.

Janet Jackson Appreciation Thread
I never thought of Janet as any kind of singer... like Paula Abdul, her true gift lies in dancing and choreography. I always thought she carried herself with class (even after the super bowl thing) and I also thought she showed great restraint when coming under fire during the whole Paris/Michael's will fiasco. So many hated on her for slapping that little brat Paris (which to me,, looked like her trying to snatch her phone)... but damn, if a grown person can't discipline their teenage neice in the absence of a parent, then what is the world coming to! You know that entitled little brat was givin Janet 50 kinds of sass that day, and there is no doubt in my mind she deserved it. And then with the whole thing about Michael's will, people calling her a golddigger, and accusing her of stooping to Jermaine's level, when all the while she was married to a freaking billionaire! She will always hold a place in the heart of those of us who grew up in the 70's, as the whole Penny story on Good Times was one of the most powerful things in TV history. And might I say, she has one of the prettiest smiles, EVER.

OK... more goodies! This is another scene of Lorie and Lance discussing Lorie's arrest, little Brooks calls his "Mommy" from his "Aunt's" house... and the moustache comes in like the ass he is and tries to interject himself into Lorie's case. That phone call scene is just touching and heartbreaking at the same time. You can see Lorie's desperate need for her son, but the undercurrent of Leslie secretly hoping that maybe she could step up and be his real mother. That boy is a pretty good actor, too! Better than many of the other adults on the show today.

You have to remember that weeks before this, Vanessa found out she was terminally ill, the doctor told her she had about 3 months to live at best, if I remember right. She had returned to the doctor to find he had suffered a stroke, and would not be seeing patients anymore, so the nurse gave her her records and referrals for another doctor. So Vanessa destroyed the records and set her plan in motion. Dare I say it, but Vanessa scared me more than Sheila. The closeup on K.T.'s face when she says "Tomorrow" just freaks me out.
