  1. Oh, I know full well that we are just a subset of a greater population. I don't have access to any information about the fans who are not connected by the Internet until some little tidbit comes along to be picked over till its a carcass. And I don't see anything mean or smart ass in what you're saying. But, a business decision was reached & announced & put into place to launch & it was met by a backlash, a predictable one, if you ask me. On one side you have a lot of touchy-feely and on the other side you have cold steel business like stuff. Those two sides are gonna talk right past each other. Fans are into their loyalty over the years & business would love to still have that! Fans want to know why this is being done to them when it isn't. It's a business decision. Victim mentality isn't going anywhere. You hear a lot of what people classify as fans being their own worst enemy & that old adage, eventually soap fans will bring about the end of soaps. If I stand out, it's because I am espousing a minority view point & they always stand out! I am waning so best to stop here.
  2. Are they attached to their own ideas? Are they bull-headed? Can they not SEE what everyone else can? I was just talking to someone about someone who had a great audition & audition tape & time has been allowed to pass & now it's clear that it's not working out & it is awkward. I know they put so much stock in their plans. SIGH. Maybe they just don't want to give up on them.
  3. I never let myself get in the habit of FFing so I watch the whole show. On the one hand I think the lovely ladies struck down in their primes by this respiratory distress is obscene because of covid but I am determined to stay on this ride. Marlena's got such a wicked cough. And Kay won't let down unless it's Steve holding her. Kate seems to be the most resilient for now. I wonder if we've seen the last of Evan. At any rate as much as this is a scary thing being done it is an exciting time: what if DOOL reinvented itself one more time? Where else to be?
  4. On the one hand, they said they were getting death threats on the phone lines ... and I can believe that was true. But, I honestly don't think anyone would have taken in a weapon. Maybe that's me being naive.
  5. I just honest to god have little memory of Rhonda Lewin! And, yes, you said a mouthful. This is my personal tribute to Anne. And I loved Ellen Wheeler's Marley but Anne is my pick for Vicky & for Both.
  6. I don't know what I can see but I cannot see some sort of fix to force Stephanie & Alex into the "love of a good woman" redeems mold! WHO would look at Alex & see potential for redemption?
  7. So, you're on a break NOW? I'm mostly, only recently back from a break. Specifically I came back the day of the exorcism when Tripp took the devil into him & went out the 3rd or 4th floor window. I began watching DOOL in the first week of August 1966. Susan Seaforth-Hayes was not yet Julie #4. The storyline was Julie, her best friend Susan Hunter, her secret boyfriend David & Susan & David got drunk & had a one night stand so of course she got pregnant & this first day Julie is helping David to decide to marry Susan & given the baby a name & get a divorce in a year. Susan is played by another divine lady, Denise Alexander, and she is b*tchy all the time to David. They get married & then he goes with Susan to her parents' house & meets Susan's mother & has dinner with them. Julie is living at Tom & Alice's. A boy baby is born, named Dickie & while David is supposed to be watching him, falls off the swing set & is killed. Bill Bell wrote it. The beginning of that is all on YT, 8 consecutive days. The list of soaps I have never watched is shorter than the list I have watched, over the years. I agree that the Writing is DOOL's main weakness. I watch GH, too, and I think both shows are way out of balance in their use of cast & the way they do their storytelling. I don't know if DOOL is considering a change in the writing. I wish they would. I'd like to see Donna Swajeski be hired as their HW & to be given a mandate to give up a lot of the OTT story-telling in favor of traditional soap. I know some people say it's the brand now & we're stuck with it. And, then, there's the 7 month lag time problem. And, the way they rotate cast on, then off, then repeat. I hope that Peacock will be a better employer than NBC was. I've been through many show cancelations & I hope this doesn't turn into that. My all-time faves are, in order, AW, GL & SB. In spite of the fact that I don't like demonic possession storylines I admit that one of the shows they won the Writing Emmy & the WGA Award for, was a strong, well-written episode. It was the first real day of DevilDoc 2.0 where Doug was in Marlena's office being evaluated for Alzheimers & the devil came out in Doug. No idea what the second episode was. Nice to meet you, and welcome.
  8. I certainly see fans on message boards that are on board with the move. Are there more, louder voices speaking against? Yes. Soap fans do not like change. This is not news. And, people who are with the move say their piece, offer ideas that they think might help, go ahead & make their move to Peacock Premie & then settle in to post about the show again. They're not going to stay back in threads where everyone there is being 100% negative when they do not agree & they cannot do anything to change it. And, why should they? Do you see traffic about the show?
  9. #OnThisDay in 1986, (Sept. 23) Rhonda Lewin assumed the role of Victoria Love, although her face would not be shown until September 30 #AW #AnotherWorld
  10. The backlash continues & the attention being paid to the backlash continues! Why isn't DIGEST presenting more than one point of view?!! They used to be emphatic about balanced reporting!
  11. Oh, I love it! You remember so much more of it than I do!! Ms. Gabet is such a delight & her memory is amazing. I had a question for her one time about the timing of something, when it was shot versus when it aired or something & I msgd her & asked & she replied *immediately with the accurate information. I know most people know her for EON but to me she is Brittany. And last week it was just good how much she appreciated that clip! Did I ever tell you about the dream I had about Miz Paley? This was one night last spring & I dreamt I was on AW & I was going to be set up with a relationship & they were trying to decide who to pair me with & they had 10 names. BITD I recalled all the names but right now they escape me. Anyway the point was I was so pleased with their decision & it was Petronia Paley.
  12. I'm looking for the best place to post this & I'm thinking it is here. This is one good thing about Peacock that isn't DOOL. Right now they have 10 seasons of "Chicago PD" up. Anne Heche was a recurring character in Seasons 6 & 7, 2018-2019, 11 episodes. As you know we lost Anne in August. I'm watching and rewatching AH content. I've started rewatching her "Chicago PD" episodes. If you're interested, they are: 2018: New Normal, Bad Boys, Ride Along, True or False, Descent, 2019: Trust, What Could Have Been, Sacrifice, Confession, Reckoning & the last Doubt. I've heard all sorts of terrible things about this cop! But, I'm betting that she's not really a villain, she's probably just misunderstood. I also am watching this season of The Voice on Peacock. My reception of NBC is the pits.
  13. It bothers me so! She's so beautiful & she just looks a wreck. What a waste.
  14. It's true. The whole day was written like "real soap"! For a change, a change that I like. My complaint is only that I wanted to be at a point further along today instead of having to wait till Monday or Tuesday & that's just regular soap fan impatience. It's nice to have a regular complaint even! My only complaint with Nicole/Jada is the complaint I always have about Ari & that is that they don't find an attractive hairstyle for her & stick with it. She's a beautiful woman & most of the time her hair looks awful.
  15. Your specific suggestions are dynamite & would've truly been the best way to go with this storyline & give decent treatment & attention must be paid to both parties! I know other people have talked about good ideas, too. And, I know there's a low rumble that Ron hates women. Thnx for reposting great ideas that easily could have been implemented!
  16. On DOOL now, finally, it is Lose/Lose for Nancy Wesley. People were concerned before this got going, this storyline, what would be the treatment of Nancy, what would be the impact on Nancy, etc. Well, Nancy has been humiliated, miserable, hurt, made a fool of, been made desperate, and now, next week, is the kicker to this storyline and once again Nancy is the victim. The misogyny to this is off the scale. While you think "Poor Nancy" think should this have been done?!
  17. This always happens. When a showdown occurs, there are people who would give ANYTHING for a new venue to be able to continue with their show & there are people who say they would prefer it if the show had just ended before things got any worse. And those two groups of people are at direct opposite points. The people who wish the show would just end have an option. They can walk away & not watch or follow the show anymore, effectively ending it for themselves. The people who would hang on no matter what have no option except to stick it out & hope for the best.
  18. The Friday Show, Sept. 23rd I thought today would be definitive. I thought by the close of business someone would be locked up in the hoosegow. I thought wrong. I hate when this show makes me wrong. Today the Music was a character in the show. Questioning, searching, seeking, suspenseful, scary even, ... plus much of the dialogue was similarly questioning. I'm left feeling very dissatisfied. We have not yet thrown the book at anybody yet! Alright, back to the beginning. Jada has Eric's phone so he must have hers. She drops into Basic Black to swap with him. Of course he's not there but Nicole is. We get to live through another of the awkward conversations these two have with each other. Nicole (who never met a boundary she didn't want to cross) says right out loud that they must have gotten their phones mixed up while they were sleeping with each other. Jada manages to suggest that there are things that are none of Nicole's business. They go on this way, testing the waters & testing each other. Finally Eric comes in. He looks good. He's wearing a white t-shirt with a black vest over it. It's a new look. He's been doing photography kinds of things, "getting ready for the shoot". The phone exchange happens. Jada leaves. Then, Eric & Nicole proceed onto Inappropriate Conversation #2. Yes, they each reveal that they had a sex dream about the two of them. Danger, WIll Robinson! Next up we return to yesterday's Nancy & Chad talking where Nancy tells Chad the history of Craig's scent usage & Clyde's to boot. Chad puts together that it must be Clyde! He can't get away from Nancy fast enough. He looks like he's going to go get a gun & murder Clyde. (You can see all the steps of thinking that on his face.) Craig finishes his "visit" with Leo in his cell. He really wants to hurt Leo. But instead he drops in on Rafe, who proceeds to question him about where he was Sept. something & June 10th. In Rafe's mind, Craig is a suspect! We see Clyde filling out paperwork at the hospital & notice Sonny's room & do the same flashback of himself holding a knife & then advance one more celluloid to his raising the knife over his head & aiming down at Sonny ... From the other side of the open area outside the Nurses station, suddenly, Will appears, saying, "Clyde?!" Now we move back to Brady & Chloe's place. He's just back from signing docs that make Rachel his sole responsibility with Belle. He is jubilant, but confused because he thought he was losing the custody battle. Chloe reveals that she happened to have with her the surveillance footage of Kristen trying to do her harm at work & leaves it with the judge. She felt like the judge was interested! Brady becomes even more effusive than before over his successful custody to thanking Chloe when what should happen next but Nancy come to their door. She wants them to be her two witnesses at her wedding TODAY. Chloe is immediately all up in her face over what is the danged hurry? When Craig appears at their door. He agrees to also attend the City Hall wedding. Craig has to unload, has to have someone to tell he's just been accused of stabbing & murdering. He is righteously offended. Chad goes to a wall safe & unlocks it & takes out a gun! Then he heads back to Sonny's room at the hospital. After some talk, they get Sonny to try to remember more from prior to the attack. And he does! He remembers seeing Clyde reflected in a pane of glass, so they know it was Clyde smelling of vanilla & wielding a knife. I think you get the idea of the day by now.
  19. To me there's a dividing line that is more meaningful than the extremes of the Bill Bell years versus the Ron Carlivati years. And that is one event, Buried Alive. Mostly pre Buried Alive DOOL was a traditional soap opera, after it was not.
  20. Oh, well, I've been figuring d-e-a-d spells dead, yeah.
  21. Will Nancy be sad? Will she go completely off her gourd? They've made a fool of her. They've humiliated her. They've made her desperate. So desperate. I think what they've done to her is the real kicker of this. But, Jen, no, I can't see that in any fashion. To me at this point this just looks like lose-lose.
  22. Yes, I laugh and think, really who would be afraid of us?! But, when Charlotte Savitz was the next to last EP at AW & time came for the Annual Luncheon, supposedly she hired personal security for the day.
